NFL Recap Week 4 2019:

Eagles 34-27 over the Packers: Finally a good primetime matchup (Thursday night) with two good QBs going head to head. QB Carson Wentz without key offensive linemen, WR DeSean Jackson and a limited Alshon Jeffery. He still had 3 TD passes with one going to Jeffery and another to RB Jordan Howard. Howard ran all over that Packers defense with 115 total all-purpose yards and he also added 2 rushing TDs. QB Aaron Rodgers had 2 TD passes with 422 yards passing and 46 yards rushing plus his RB Aaron Jones had a rushing TD. After a Howard rushing TD to put the Eagles ahead, the Packers failed to come back with a turnover on downs followed by an interception on the goal line, the only real mistake Rodgers made all game but it came at the worst time possible.

Giants 24-3 over Washington: It was the RB Wayne Gellman show filling in for injured RB Saquon Barkley as he had both a receiving and a rushing TD. While the defense picked off QB Case Keenum once and Dwayne Haskins three times with one being returned for a TD by Jabrill Peppers.

Chargers 30-10 over the Dolphins: Miami had three fumbles, two missed field goals and QB Josh Rosen’s 1 TD got cancelled out by his interception. While QB Phillip Rivers had an easy day with 310 yards and 2 passing TDs that his backup even got into the game at the end. Despite RB Melvin Gordon announcing he is back with the team RB Austin Ekeler kept it going this season with a rushing and a receiving TD.

Raiders 31-24 over the Colts: QB Jacoby Brissett had 3 TD passes but one mistake late in the game killed his team as he threw an interception that was returned for a TD. Also their kicker Adam Vinatieri missed another field goal. QB Derek Carr had 2 TD passes and WR Trevor Davis added a rushing TD.

Panthers 16-10 over the Texans: In this messy game on both sides where QB Kyle Allen fell back to earth really hard with three fumbles and no TDs it was his RB and kicker who saved the game for him. RB Christian McCaffrey had 179 total all-purpose yards with a rushing TD and his kicker made all of his field goals unlike the opposing team’s kicker. QB Deshaun Watson had a fumble and no passing TDs but he did get one rushing TD himself.

Patriots 16-10 over the Bills: Both starting QBS didn’t throw a passing TD and both kickers missed a field goal or an extra point. The difference was the Patriots blocked a punt and returned it for a TD. Plus they picked off QB Josh Allen three times and his backup Matt Barkley not to mention the two fumbles they caused as off those QBs. The two offensive TDs were rushing TDs one by Buffalo’s Allen and New England’s RB Brandon Bolden. RB Frank Gore became the 4th RB ever with 15,000 yards rushed in NFL history.

Browns 40-25 over the Ravens: This was an upset on paper despite divisional teams usually splitting their series. RB Nick Chubb ran all over Baltimore with 165 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs and his backup Dontrell Hilliard added a rushing TD. QB Baker Mayfield threw all over Baltimore with 342 yards with a TD to his backup TE but WR Jarvis Landry finally woke up this season by having 167 yards receiving. On offense for Baltimore they had two fumbles and QB Lamar Jackson had two interceptions. He did throw 3 TD passes but two of those were late in the 4th quarter when it was already out of hand.

Titans 24-10 over the Falcons: It was all QB Marcus Mariota who had 3 TD passes with no interceptions with two of those going to rookie WR AJ Brown. While QB Matt Ryan had no TD passes with a lost fumble and his kicker missed a field goal. Their only offensive TD was backup RB Ito Smith who had a rushing TD.

Chiefs 34-30 over the Lions: Despite no TD passes from QB Patrick Mahomes and four team fumbles, plus the kicker missing a field goal his RBs won the game for them. RBs LeSean McCoy had a rushing TD and 3rd string RB Darrel Williams had two rushing TDs. Plus they recovered a fumble for a TD as well. On the other side QB Matthew Stafford had 3 TD passes to keep his team in the game.

Seahawks 27-10 over the Cardinals: When Arizona misses a field goal (one of two they missed) and QB Kyler Murray throws an interception that was returned for a TD by DE Jadeveon Clowney to start the game, it makes it an easy day for Seattle. QB Russell Wilson did not have to do too much as he threw 1 TD pass and his backup RB added a rushing TD.

Buccaneers 55-40 over the Rams: QB Jameis Winston outplayed QB Jared Goff and shredded the Rams defense for 4 TD passes and both his RBS added rushing TDs. WR Chris Godwin caught two of those TD passes. Goff did have 2 TD passes with a 517 yards passing but he attempted 68 passes?! That is even too much for the all-time greats plus he fumbled the ball and threw 3 interceptions. They only ran the ball 10 times split evenly between their RBS even if RB Todd Gurley had 2 rushing TDs they barely went to him or his backup and relied on Goff too much. CB Marcus Peters did return a lone mistake on an interception for a TD but the game ended on a fumble recovery returned for a TD by DT Ndamukong Suh against his former team.

Bears 16-6 over the Vikings: Despite losing their starting QB Mitchell Trubisky to a shoulder issue early in the game the defense picked up the slack with five sacks and three forced fumbles and held Minnesota to one rushing TD late plus stopped a 2-point conversion attempt. Their backup Chase Daniels out played QB Kirk Cousins by throwing a TD pass to RB Tarik Cohen.

Jaguars 26-24 over the Broncos: QB Joe Flacco had 3 TD passes with one of those being a late TD to put his team ahead but Jacksonville kicked a game winning field goal to seal it. It was rookie QB Gardner Minshew who led his team down the field for that field goal and had 2 TD passes.

Saints 12-10 over the Cowboys: The Saints defense forced two fumbles and picked off QB Dak Prescott once at the end as they held him without a TD pass. It was New Orleans’ kicker Wil Lutz that also helped them win. RB Ezekiel Elliot did have the only TD of the game for anyone.

Steelers 27-3 over the Bengals: The Steelers defense sacked QB Andy Dalton seven times, picked him off once and forced two fumbles from him. While QB Mason Rudolph had 2 TD passes and his backup RB added a rushing TD.

Bye Week: Jets & 49ers
