Cowboys 13-10 over the Saints: It was a messy game for both teams as they both had three fumbles. Both QBs had a TD pass but QB Drew Brees threw an interception late to seal the game for the Cowboys. Dallas went up 13-0 in the 1st half and controlled the ball for 13 more minutes to prevent Brees from attempting a bigger comeback.
Ravens 26-16 over the Falcons: Behind the leg of kicker Justin Tucker and the feet of QB Lamar Jackson (1 rushing TD) they pulled out an ugly win. Jackson had 3 fumbles one of the four his team had and one of them was returned for a TD. QB Matt Ryan had also had a fumble returned for a TD and had an interception. The Ravens held WR Julio Jones to only 18 yards.
Broncos 24-10 over the Bengals: It was all about RB Phillip Lindsay as he had 2 rushing TDs and 157 yards rushing. QB Case Keenum added a TD pass with no turnovers. The Bengals on offense had two fumbles and an interception as they try to figure out how to play without Andy Dalton and a hobbled AJ Green.
Rams 30-16 over the Lions: The Rams went up on the Lions 16-6 during the 3rd quarter and then the Rams outscored them 14-10 to end the game with 2 TDs. It was all RB Todd Gurley who had 2 rushing TDs and 132 yards rushing. The Rams clinched winning the NFC West.
Cardinals 20-17 over the Cardinals: The Cardinals upset QB Aaron Rodgers and the Packers by kicking a game winning field goal. Despite no TD passes by QB Josh Rosen and three total turnovers by the Cardinals plus the Packers didn’t turn the ball away, while Rodgers even throwing a TD pass, they still lost at home. The hero of the game was RB Chase Edwards (who is that?) who had 2 rushing TDs. Head Coach Mike McCarthy was fired after the game.
Texans 29-13 over the Browns: QB Baker Mayfield did have a TD pass but he had three interceptions with one being returned for a TD, and his WR fumbled the ball away. That was more than enough mistakes to allow for only one offensive TD for the Texans thrown by QB DeShaun Watson. Kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn accounted for 17 points. Plus the Texans controlled time of possession by 15 minutes to hold on to the early lead as they were up 23-0 entering half time.
Dolphins 21-17 over the Bills: It wasn’t a good day for the Bills as they missed an extra point, missed a field goal, had 3 total fumbles with one from QB Josh Allen. Allen had two interceptions but did have 2 TD passes to WR Zay Jones. While QB Ryan Tannehill had 3 TD passes to lead them to victory for his 1st win since week 3.
Giants
30-27 over the Bears: The Bears were down 24-14 entering the 4th quarter but had an
amazing comeback with 13 points to force overtime but lost in OT on a field
goal. The Bears had six fumbles, 4 by QB Chase Daniels who also had two
interceptions with one being returned for a TD. The Bears had two trick TDs as
RB Tarik Cohen threw a TD pass and DE Akeim Hicks had a rushing TD. For the
Giants QB Eli Manning had a TD and interception but a trick play by the Giants
this time was by WR Odell Beckham throwing a TD pass, plus he caught that
Manning pass.
Buccaneers 24-17 over the Panthers: It
was a tale of 2 QBs with them being the opposite of each other in this game. QB
Cam Newton did have 2 TD passes like QB Jameis Winston but had had 4
interceptions, while Winston had no turnovers despite that being Winston’s M.O.
not Newton’s. The difference was the rushing TD by RB Peyton Barber.
Chiefs 40-33 over the Raiders: QB Patrick Mahomes had 4 TD passes with two of them going to TE Travis Kelce who added 168 yards receiving. It was Mahomes’ 7th game with 4 TD passes and RB Spencer Ware in place of Kareem Hunt had a rushing TD. QB Derek Carr had 3 TD passes and RB Doug Martin added a rushing TD for Oakland but they had four fumbles.
Titans 26-22 over the Jets: QB Marcus Mariota had 2 TD passes and RB Derrick Henry had a rushing TD while QB Josh McCown had 0 TDs and an interception that sealed the game. The only Jets TD was an interception returned for a TD and caused Mariota to fumble twice. Their kicker again also kept them in the game hitting five field goals but the Titans scored 13 unanswered in the 4th to seal the game.
Patriots 24-10 over the Vikings: Two of the most accurate kickers in NFL history missed field goals in the same game; Stephen Gostkwoski and Dan Bailey. Both QBS had interceptions and 1 TD pass but Tom Brady only had 1 while Kirk Cousins had two interceptions. The difference in the game was the 2 rushing TDs by FB James Develin for New England.
Seahawks 43-16 over the 49ers: It was all QB Russell Wilson again with 4 TD passes and no turnovers plus his RB Rashaad Penny added a rushing TD. Seattle was up 27-3 entering the 3rd quarter which was too much for QB Nick Mullens to overcome despite 2 TD passes. Mullens had an interception which was returned by Bobby Wagner for a TD and his team had three fumbles too.
Jaguars 6-0 over the Colts: The Colts had two turnovers, two turnovers on downs and couldn’t score. Just like QB Blake Bortles would do for Jacksonville which is keep turning the ball over which his replacement Cody Kessler did by fumbling the ball away while RB Carlos Hyde starting in place of the suspended Leonard Fournette also fumbled the ball. Kicker Josh Lambo made both of his field goals for the only points in the game. 6 combined points is the fewest since 2007.
Chargers 33-30 over the Steelers: Again QB Phillip Rivers had to lead his team in the 2nd half from being down by a huge sum this time they were down 23-10 entering the 3rd. He led them on a 26-7 run and set them up for the game winning field goal. The Steelers were off sides three times. He finished with 2 TD passes and CB Desmond King returned a punt for a TD. While QB Ben Roethlisberger threw 2 TD passes as well but threw one interception, plus his RB James Connor had 2 rushing TDs.
Eagles 28-13 over Washington: Despite RB Adrian Peterson 90 yard rushing TD, the team with the better QB came out on top. QB Carson Wentz had 2 TD passes but with two turnovers of the four his team had, and RB Darren Sproles had a rushing TD his 1st of the year. Washington had to turn to QB Mark Sanchez after QB Colt McCoy was taken out. If you’re turning to a QB you only recently signed a few weeks ago you’re not destined to score an offensive TD the rest of the game, as he threw an interception and fumbled the ball away.
