NFL Recap Week 8 2018:

Texans 42-23 over the Dolphins: Miami took the lead early but QB DeShaun Watson had 5 TD passes with 2 going to WR DeAndre Hopkins, another 2 to TE Jordan Thomas and 1 to WR Will Fuller who had 134 yards receiving, plus Lamar Miller had a rushing TD with 133 rushing yards. For Miami QB Brock Osweiler reverted back to his old self with no TD passes and an interception, but his own WR Danny Amendola had a TD pass thrown to RB Kenyan Drake who added another TD on the ground. Houston won but they lost WR Will Fuller to a torn ACL for the season.

Eagles 24-18 over the Jaguars: Despite a fumble and an interception QB Carson Wentz had his way over the Jaguars with 3 TD passes but again they no running game. All that Jacksonville could do was muster mostly field goals as Bortles had a fumble to cancel out his TD pass plus they missed the two point conversion try.

Panthers 36-21 over the Ravens: QB Joe Flacco had two interceptions with a TD pass and his RB Alex Collins had a fumble to cancel out his TD, plus they put in rookie QB Lamar Jackson who had a TD pass late in the 4th but it was all about QB Cam Newton. Newton shredded the Baltimore defense with 2 passing TDs and a rushing TD plus his RB Christian McCaffery had a rushing TD as well.

Bears 24-10 over the Jets: The Jets offense could only muster one 1 TD pass from QB Sam Darnold who didn’t have an interception but had a fumble. While QB Mitchell Trubisky out played him by having 2 TD passes with one going to RB Tarik Cohen who had 110 yards from scrimmage and his RB Jordan Howard had a rushing TD. The Bears even missed a field goal but had a lead from the start controlling the clock and possessing the ball longer.

Bengals 37-34 over the Buccaneers: QB Andy Dalton outplayed both Tampa QBS by having 2 TD passes and no interceptions with one of them going to WR AJ Green. RB Joe Mixon added 2 rushing 2 TDS. Tampa QB Jameis Winston had 4 interceptions despite a TD pass to WR DeSean Jackson. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick came in for him in relief with 2 TD passes in the 4th quarter but had a fumble but it was too late by then. Both teams missed an extra point but Cincinnati kicked a game winning field goal and one of those four interceptions was returned for a TD.

Seahawks 28-14 over the Lions: Despite an early TD pass by QB Matthew Stafford who had another on the day (both to WR Marvin Jones) they never led the rest of the day as Seattle had 28-7 run. Stafford also had an interception and a fumble while QB Russell Wilson had 3 TD passes. Plus RB Chris Carson had 105 yards rushing with a TD for the Seahawks.

Chiefs 30-23 over the Broncos: Despite an interception, QB Patrick Mahomes had 4 TD passes with two going to WR Sammy Watkins who had 107 yards receiving, and the other 2 went to TE Travis Kelce and RB Kareem Hunt. Case Keenum had two fumbles and an interception to cancel out his 2 TD game. Broncos kicker missed a field goal/also missed a two point conversion but Phillip Lindsay had a rushing TD. Turnovers and missed points will kill you vs this high octane offense that shredded your good defense.

Washington 20-13 over the Giants: It was the RB Adrian Peterson show with 149 yards rushing, with a receiving and rushing TD. QB Eli Manning had 2 interceptions but had a late 4th quarter TD to TE Evan Engram.

Steelers 33-18 over the Browns: Despite 3 team fumbles and an interception the Steelers blew out the Browns behind Ben Roethlisberger 2 TD passes to WR Antonio Brown. Plus RB James Connor had 2 rushing TDS in this 3rd straight game the 1st guy to do that in their history. QB Baker Mayfield had 2 TD passes but had an interception and they failed to kick an extra point/missed a field goal and missed a two point conversion attempt but had a safety though.

Colts 42-28 over the Raiders: The Colts finally are running the ball to alleviate pressure from QB Andrew Luck as they had two straight 200+ yards rushing games 1st time since 1985. RB Marlon Mack had 132 of those yards with 2 rushing TDs and Luck had 3 TD passes. Oakland didn’t have a bad day but it was just not enough to hold off the Colts despite 3 TD passes from QB Derek Carr two which were in the 2nd half. They had no pass rush as Luck had all day to throw and let Mack run the clock down as they had the ball 36 minutes compared to the 23 minutes for Oakland. Kicker Adam Vinatieri becomes the all time leading scorer.

Cardinals 18-15 over the 49ers: The 49ers had a 5-3 lead entering half time but the Cardinals went on a 15-10 run as QB Josh Rosen had 2 TD passes with one going to WR Larry Fitzgerald while QB CJ Beathard had 1 TD pass. Fitzgerald is now 7th place all time with that TD.

Rams 29-27 over the Packers: Green Bay took a 13-8 lead but the Rams came back with 21-14 run. Surprisingly both Packers RBS had rushing TDs but QB Aaron Rodgers had 1 TD pass. Jared Goff led his team from behind with 3 TD passes. RB Todd Gurley caught one of those TD passes to go with his 195 total all purpose yards leading the team in receiving and rushing yards.

Saints 30-20 over the Vikings: Both QBs had interceptions but Kirk Cousins had more TD passes 1:2 but both teams RBS had TDs in Alvin Kamara who caught that Brees TD pass, and Latavius Murray had a rushing TD in place of the injured RB Dalvin Cook. The difference was Cousins’ interception was returned for a TD.

Patriots 25-6 over the Bills: The Patriots didn’t blow them out but they didn’t have to do much to beat this team as the Bills beat themselves. QB Derek Anderson had an interception that was returned for a TD and two fumbles which caused QB Nate Peterman to come in the game. QB Tom Brady didn’t even throw a TD pass as the only offensive TD was RB James White scoring a rushing TD. It was a field goal game four for New England and two for Buffalo.
