NFL Recap Week 4 2018:

Rams 38-31 over the Vikings: This game was a high scoring affair with both QBS having huge games. QB Kirk Cousins had 422 yards passing with 3 TD passes and QB Jared Goff had 5 TD passes with 465 yards passing. It also was a huge game for their WRs as Cooper Kupp had 162 yards with 2 TDs, Robert Woods 101 with a TD, Brandin Cooks with 116 with a TD. RB Todd Gurley had 156 yards total all purpose yards with a TD. While WR Adam Thielen had 135 yards with 1 TD, Stefon Diggs had 123 yards receiving, and Aldrick Robinson had 2 TDs. But the story wasn’t how good the Rams were we already knew that, it was seeing the Vikings defense give up huge amounts of points in back to back weeks to the Bills, and now the Rams something is up with their defense.

Patriots 38-7 over the Dolphins: Well the Dolphins showed us who they really were not a great team despite the undefeated record as they lost again to the Patriots. Their defense let QB Tom Brady throw 3 TD passes despite picking him off two times. WR Cordarrelle Paterson had a long TD run of 55 yards and RB James White had both a rushing and receiving TD with 112 all total purpose yards. But the real star of the game was rookie RB Sony Mitchell rushing for 112 yards with a rushing TD (His first career TD). QB Ryan Tannehill couldn’t overcome a 31-0 deficit entering the 4th quarter plus he had an interception and a fumble. It got bad enough that QB Brock Osweiler came and threw a junk time TD to RB Frank Gore.

Jaguars 31-12 over the Jets: RB TJ Yeldon was the star of the game despite having starting RB Leonard Fournette return, as he caught a TD pass and rushed for a TD compared to Fournette’s 30 rushing yards. QB Blake Bortles had 2 total TD passes but he had his usual interception while the Jaguars held QB Sam Darnold to 1 TD pass and below 170 yards, plus they had recorded a safety on the Jets.

Texans 37-34 over the Colts: QB DeShaun Watson had 2 TD passes and a rushing TD as he lead his team to an overtime win over the divisional rival Colts. Both of those TD passes went to their main WRs DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller. QB Andrew Luck had 4 TD passes with no interceptions but he fumbled twice and his team fumbled three times with two of them being forced by JJ Watt. The difference in the game was both teams making field goals in OT but the Colts went for it on 4th down instead of going for a tie. They let the Texans get the ball in their territory and they kicked the game winning field goal. Kicker Adam Vinatieri is now the all time leader in field goals made with 566 passing Morten Anderson.

Packers 22-0 over the Bills: The Bills came back to reality after that huge upset over the Vikings they got shut out by the Packers. QB Josh Allen had two interceptions with a fumble and 0 TD passes. With the Bills turning the ball over QB Aaron Rodgers didn’t have to do much but had an uneven performance of 1 TD pass to TE Jimmy Graham and an interception and fumble (3 total for the team). Kicker Mason Crosby kicked three field goals and RB Aaron Jones had a rushing TD.

Cowboys 26-24 over the Lions: RB Ezekiel Elliot ran all over the Lions defense with 240 all total purpose yards while catching one of QB Dak Prescott’s 2 TD passes. WR Golden Tate had 132 yards receiving while catching 2 TD passes and RB Kerryon Johnson had a rushing TD. The Cowboys had 20-10 lead entering the 4th quarter as QB Matthew Stafford did his best to lead his team from behind by throwing a 4th quarter TD pass but it wasn’t enough as Dallas kicked the game winner as time expired.

Bears 48-10 over the Buccaneers: Nobody saw QB Mitchell Trubisky throwing 5 TD passes in the first half that was something QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has done before in his career but “Fitzmagic” came back down to earth while Trubisky finished with 6 TD passes. Fitzpatrick had a fumble and interception and was benched in the 2nd half for QB Jameis Winston, while Trubisky had the Bears leading 38-3 entering half time. Trubisky had 354 yards passing with his TDs going to WRs Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, Josh Bellamy, TE Trey Burton and RB Tarik Cohen. While the Bears intercepted the ball three times and forced one fumble. Winston did throw a garbage time TD to TE Adam Humphries.

Bengals 37-36 over the Falcons: The Bengals came ready to play as QB Andy Dalton had 3 TD passes going to WR AJ Green and RB Giovanni Bernard had 2 rushing TDs. Despite QB Matt Ryan outplaying Dalton by having no turnovers to Dalton’s one as he had more yards but both had 3 TD passes. Again WR Julio did not catch one of those with 2 going to WR Calvin Ridley who had 3 last week. Despite a rushing TD by Ito Smith their dynamic offense is not the same without RB Devonta Freeman who has missed the last 3 games since everyone knows the ball is going to go to WR Julio Jones.

Titans 26-23 over the Eagles: QB Marcus Mariota despite an interception outplayed QB Carson Wentz with 2 TD passes and a rushing TD. One of those TD passes was the game winner in OT. Wentz had a good day of 2 TD passes but his run game was nowhere to be found. In his return from injury WR Alshon Jeffery caught one of those TD passes. But it all came down to the Eagles getting only a field goal in OT while the Titans were able to get a TD after that field goal.

Seahawks 20-17 over the Cardinals: RB Mike Davis was the star of the game with 101 yards rushing with 2 rushing TDs. While RB David Johnson now has a TD in back to back weeks just this was rushing compared to a receiving one last week. Rookie QB Josh Rosen in his first start had no interceptions and 1 TD. But the Seahawks won with a game winning field goal by Sebastian Janikowski.

Raiders 45-42 over the Browns: Jon Gruden has gotten his first win of the season as QB Derek Carr had 4 TD passes with one finally going to WR Amari Cooper, 2 to TE Jared Cook and one to WR Jordy Nelson. While rookie QB Baker Mayfield in his first start did have 2 TD passes but he had two interceptions with two fumbles and his RB Carlos Hyde had a fumble too with his rushing TD. While rookie RB Nick Chubb had over 100 yards rushing with 2 rushing TDs. In this high scoring affair it was decided by a game winning field goal by Oakland in OT after missing the 1st one.

Chargers 29-27 over the 49ers: Without QB Jimmy Garoppolo QB CJ Beathard actually kept his team in the game with 2 TD passes but had two interceptions with a fumble. QB Phillip Rivers had 3 TD passes with one of them going to TE Antonio Gates. It was his 88th TD pass from Rivers trailing only QB Peyton Manning and WR Marvin Harrison for any Q to pass catcher in history plus it was his 115th career TD. The Chargers won a game winning field goal.

Saints 33-18 over the Giants: Despite QB Drew Brees not having any TD passes the Saints won because RB Alvin Kamara had 3 rushing TDs with 181 all total purpose yards and kicker Will Lutz made four field goals. The Giants were leading 7-0 to start the game after WR Sterling Sheppard caught a TD pass but they got outscored 33-3 before a last effort rushing TD by Saquon Barkley.

Ravens 26-14 over the Steelers: QB Joe Flacco out played his divisional rival QB Ben Roethlisberger. Flacco had 2 TD passes with 363 yards and no interceptions while Big Ben had 1 TD with 274 yards but with an interception. The 1 TD pass did go to WR Antonio Brown. It came down to a field goal game as the Ravens made four compared to the Steelers two.

Chiefs 27-23 over the Broncos: QB Patrick Mahomes didn’t have an amazing game but he had 1 TD pass, a rushing TD and a fumble but it didn’t matter since RB Kareem Hunt had 175 all total purpose yards with a rushing TD. While the other QB Case Keenum had no TD passes with an interception as Denver had to rely on their rookie RBs for their only TDs in Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay. The Chiefs put it away by scoring two of their three TDs in the final quarter.

Bye Week for Panthers and Washington
