Broncos 25-13 over the Colts: Well despite an interception, a missed field goal, and having their better QB Trevor Siemian leave the game with a season ending injury, QB Brock Osweiler came in and threw 2 TD passes with no interceptions. The Colts only real offense was by QB Jacoby Brisset running in for a TD since he had no TD passes.
Lions 20-10 over the Bears: When you have the better QB you should always win. That’s what happened as Detroit won because QB Matthew Stafford had 2 TD passes with no interceptions, while rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky had 1 TD but with three interceptions and a fumble.
Chiefs 30-13 over the Chargers: QB Phillip Rivers’ streak of excellence came to end with his 1 TD (113th time to TE Antonio Gates) and three interception game which even his RB couldn’t save the team from. Melvin Gordon led the team in receiving and rushing yards with a rushing TD. While QB Alex Smith had no interceptions with 2 TD passes, and Kareem Hunt has found his groove again. Back to back weeks with a rushing TD and over 100 yards rushing; this week he had 155 yards rushing, with rushing and receiving TDs.
49ers 25-23 over the Titans: QB Marcus Mariota had 2 TDs compared to QB Jimmy Garoppolo but it turned into a battle of field goal kickers. As Robbie Gould accounted for 16 points compared to Ryan Succop’s 11 points, as it was all on Gould again to win a game over a better opponent since their offense doesn’t show up.
Patriots 27-24 over the Steelers: QB Ben Roethlisberger had more TD passes with 2 over QB Tom Brady’s 1 TD but both of them had interceptions, and Big Ben had a fumble. It came down to a battle of RBS as Le’Veon Bell had his usual TD and 100+ yards from rushing and receiving, but it was the Patriots 2 RBs who won the matchup with 2 rushing TDs from Rex Burkhead and Dion Lewis.
Rams 42-7 over the Seahawks: Despite the loss to the Eagles one of the best teams, they played really well facing another good team, in beating the Seahawks. Despite fumbles and interceptions by both QB Jared Goff and his backup, he did have 2 TDs passes but RB Todd Gurley was the star of the game. Gurley had 152 yards rushing with 3 rushing TDs, and he caught one of the TDs from Goff as the other one went to WR Robert Woods back from injury. The defense let QB Russell Wilson be the offense leading the team in rushing, held him to 1 TD pass, two fumbles and sacked him in the end zone for a safety, for one of the 7 sacks.
Redskins 20-15 over the Cardinals: In a battle of who has the better QB Washington came out on top since QB Kirk Cousins had 2 TDs and no interceptions compared to QB Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert fumbled it three times with one interception and no TD passes. As all of the Cardinals points came from kicker Phil Dawson.
Eagles 34-29 over the Giants: Despite losing a leading candidate in the MVP race in QB Carson Wentz it kind of looked like QB Nick Foles never left the Eagles, the only difference is whose the head coach. Foles did have a fumble but had 4 TD passes with no interceptions. He was facing the Giants so we have to see how he does v.s. a good team. While QB Eli Manning did put up a fight despite an interception he had 3 TD passes. The Eagles sealed the win with a 4th quarter field goal.
Saints 31-19 over the Jets: Again it wasn’t QB Drew Brees doing it all for the Saints since he had an interception. It was the RBS and the defense as it’s been all season, with Mark Ingram having 2 rushing TDs, and Alvin Kamara having a receiving TD. The defense picked off QB Bryce Petty two times but did have 1 TD pass.
Vikings 34-7 over the Bengals: The Vikings defense and rushing game again led the way as RB Latavius Murray had a rushing TD and Jerick McKinnon led the team in receiving yards. The defense picked off QB Andy Dalton two times with one being returned for a TD, sacked Dalton three times and forced a fumble. Even QB Case Keenum had 2 TD passes. While both teams saw their backups come in as QB Teddy Bridgewater entered a game for the first time since he suffered a major knee injury the previous year.
Jaguars 45-7 over the Texans: The team with the better QB (gulp) Blake Bortles had 3 TD passes with no interceptions, and his backup running RB Corey Grant even had a rushing TD dismantling the Texans defense. Even the team’s FB Tommy Bohanon had 2 rushing TDs. QB Tom Savage didn’t play but TJ Yates had two fumbles, and his interception cancelled out his TD pass to WR DeAndre Hopkins. This is why he’s one of the best WRs in the league because he can have multiple seasons with 3 or 4 QBS and still get TDs/have big games.
Panthers 31-24 over the Packers: Well in QB Aaron Rodgers’ return he did have 3 TD passes but he threw three interceptions and was sacked three times which doesn’t compare to QB Cam Newton’s prefect game with 4 TD passes and no interceptions. While TE Greg Olsen looked good since returning from his injury finishing with a TD and 116 yards receiving.
Bills 24-16 over the Dolphins: Well it happened, QB Jay Cutler “Jay Cutlered” himself with no TD passes, three interceptions and four fumbles, which means, QB Tyrod Taylor’s 1 TD game isn’t that pedestrian since he did add a rushing TD to it. While RB LeSean McCoy caught that TD pass and had a rushing TD. The only positive thing for the Dolphins was the rushing TD by Kenyan Drake.
Ravens 27-10 over the Browns: The Browns kicked themselves in the foot too much as QB DeShone Kizer had two interceptions with a fumble and RB Duke Johnson had a fumble too. QB Joe Flacco didn’t have to do too much to win with the other team giving it up so much. He did have1 passing TD and his own rushing TD. The defense had a fumble recovery TD, and the best kicker in the league sealed the rest of the game with two field goals.
Cowboys 20-17 over the Raiders: The Cowboys only won because they kicked the go ahead field goal. QB Dak Prescott had no TD passes with two interceptions but did have a rushing TD though, and the Raiders had four fumbles. QB Derek Carr had the better game with 2 TD passes both to WR Michael Crabtree, but kicked themselves in the foot with those fumbles.
Falcons 24-21 over the Buccaneers: Tampa Bay missed a game tying field goal late in a divisional matchup. QB Jameis Winston did out play QB Matt Ryan with his 3 TDs, a fumble and no interceptions compared to Ryan’s 1 TD pass. The Falcons RB Devonta Freeman did fumble the ball away twice, but it was the fumble by the Buccaneers that was crucial since it was turned into a recovery TD.
