Falcons 20-17 over the Saints: Despite losing RB Alvin Kamara to an early concussion it looked like the Saints’ game since they picked off QB Matt Ryan three times and caused a fumble. But the Falcons went on a 10 point run in the 4th quarter and the Falcons picked off QB Drew Brees in the end.
Eagles 43-35 over the Rams: It was a high scoring game between two of the top teams in the NFL and two of the games great young QBs. Jared Goff had 2 TD’s but had a fumble, and Carson Wentz had 4 TD passes but had an interception and left the game with a knee injury, but the team with the better QB won. RB Todd Gurley had 2 rushing TDs. Despite the high scoring the Rams had a blocked punt returned for a TD, and the Eagles returned the fumble by Goff for a TD to seal the game.
Jaguars 30-24 over the Seahawks: The Jaguars defense keeps proving how good it is and today was a good example as they picked off one of the best QBs in the league-Russell Wilson three times, which essentially cancelled out his 3 TDs. QB Blake Bortles had 2 TDs and didn’t turn the ball over, while his RB Leonard Fournette had a 100+ yard rushing game with a rushing TD. Again for the Seahawks, their kicker Blair Walsh missed a field goal.
Chargers 30-13 over the Redskins: Once the Chargers took at 23-6 over the Redskins they didn’t look back despite an injury to QB Phillip Rivers, who had over 300 yards passing with 2 TD passes. While his counterpart had just 151 yards passing with only 1 TD pass with an interception. Washington also missed an extra point in the game. RB Melvin Gordon had a rushing TD for the Chargers. The only bright spot for Washington was when Rivers left the game and his back up threw an interception that was returned for a TD.
Broncos 23-0 over the Jets: Well the streak that QB Josh McCown was on hit a wall VS the vaunted defense of the Broncos, as he had a fumble and an interception with no TDs. But it wasn’t like QB Trevor Siemian lit the Jets on fire with 1 TD pass to WR Demaryius Thomas. It was the kicker Brandon McManus who accounted for 11 of those points, and the FB Andy Janovich who had a rushing TD. McCown left the game with a broken hand.
Cardinals 12-7 over the Titans: Despite a missed field goal by Phil Dawson he accounted for all 12 points scored by the Cardinals as both QBS Blaine Gabbert and Marcus Mariota had no TD passes. The Titans had the only TD, a rushing TD by Derrick Henry to start the game and didn’t score the rest of the game, and they missed a field goal.
Cowboys 30-10 over the Giants: Despite two missed field goals it didn’t come back to haunt the Cowboys in QB Eli Manning’s return as he had two interceptions and his RB had a fumble. Manning did account for the only TD for the Giants, but when you give the ball away three times you’re not going to win when the other QB is perfect. QB Dak Prescott had 3 TD passes with over 330 yards with no interceptions.
Lions 24-21 over the Buccaneers: Each team had turnovers as the Lions had two fumbles with two interceptions, while the Buccaneers had three fumbles with two interceptions which became crucial in a close game. Coming off two straight weeks with injuries QB Matthew Stafford had only 1 TD but they rode their RB Theo Riddick who had 2 rushing TDs without starting RB Ameer Abdullah. The Lions kicked the game winning field goal after Stafford led them down the field to set it up.
Chiefs 26-15 over the Raiders: The Chiefs rode their defense and rushing attack as both RBS Kareem Hunt and Charcandrick West had rushing TDs; while their defense forced a fumble and picked off QB Derek Carr twice. QB Alex Smith had no TD passes with an interception but it didn’t matter since Carr had one more pick and had time of possession by almost 13 more minutes. The two TDs the Raiders had were in garbage time in the 4th, as RB Marshawn Lynch had one for a rushing TD. One of the 2 interceptions by Carr sealed the deal at the end of the game.
49ers 26-16 over the Texans: QB Tom Savage left the game with a concussion and his backup TJ Yates had 2 TD passes both to WR DeAndre Hopkins, who had 149 yards receiving. Hopkins fumbled the ball and their kicker missed a field goal and an extra point, while Robbie Gould was perfect and accounted for a huge chunk of their points again with 14. RB Carlos Hyde added a rushing TD to QB Jimmy Garoppolo’s lone TD pass which was negated by his interception.
Packers 27-21 over the Browns: QB Brett Hundley had no interceptions with 3 TD passes with one being the game winning TD in overtime. While the other QB DeShone Kizer did have 3 TD passes with one going to WR Josh Gordon for his 1st TD since 2014. but he had two interceptions. There weren’t any field goals kicked in this game.
Bears 33-7 over the Bengals: Despite a missed extra point by kicker Mike Nugent; he hit all of his field goals and helped beat his former team. The Bengals aren’t going to the playoffs but this is certainly an upset. No one saw the Bears who’s offense has been shaky and uneven would score this many points, and a team with WR AJ Green wouldn’t score more than 1 TD but it happened. As QB Andy Dalton had an interception and Green had a fumble. QB Mitchell Trubisky had a TD with no interceptions and a rushing TD. The real star of the game was RB Jordan Howard who had 147 yards rushing with 2 rushing TDs.
Panthers 31-24 over the Vikings: Well QB Case Keenum had the type of game he used to have before this season, turning the ball over this time with two interceptions and a fumble to cancel out his 2 TD passes. They also missed a field goal. While it was all about RB Jonathan Stewart turning back the clock and saying it’s not time for McCaffery yet, had 103 yards rushing and 3 rushing TDs. That even with 1 TD and an interception for QB Cam Newton, it didn’t matter because of Stewart’s game.
Bills 13-7 over the Colts: In a blizzard QB Tylord Taylor missed the game with an injury so QB ‘Mr. five interceptions in one half’ Nate Peterman had the Bills off to a good start with the lone TD of the 1st half to WR Kelvin Benjamin, but he had a fumble and left the game with a concussion. Add another fumble by FB Mike Tolbert and things didn’t look good as QB Jacoby Brisset who had only 69 yards passing, had 1 TD pass and RB Frank Gore was chewing up time with his 130 yards rushing. Journey man QB Joe Webb came in for Peterman and had an interception. If it wasn’t for RB LeSean McCoy who had 156 yards rushing with a game winning rushing TD in over time, they would have lost.
Steelers 39-38 over the Ravens: Back to back weeks for a divisional matchup for the Steelers and they come back to win it on a game winning field goal. Again RB Le’Veon Bell went off with 3 total TDs catching, 1 of QB Ben Roethlisberger’s 2 TD passes. Despite a fumble and interception from QB Joe Flacco, he had 2 TD passes and his RBS had good games despite a fumble by Alex Collins, who had a rushing TD, and the other RB Buck Allen who had 2 rushing TDs of his own.
Dolphins 27-20 over the Patriots: In a surprise the Dolphins upset the Patriots as QB Jay Cutler had a perfect game with 3 TD passes, two to WR Jarvis Landry with no interceptions, while QB Tom Brady had 1 TD pass but with two interceptions.
