NFL Recap Week 5 2025:

49ers 26-23 over the Rams(OT): The 49ers hit the go-ahead field goal in overtime to beat their divisional rivals.  Both QBs had good games; Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw three TD passes and backup 49ers QB threw two TD passes. One major difference between the teams was 49ers kicker Eddie Pineiro, who accounted for fourteen of their points while Rams kicker Joshua Karty missed both field goals and an extra point.

Vikings 21-17 over the Browns: Backup QB Carson Wentz threw the game winning TD pass in London with seconds left. RB Jordan Mason had a rushing TD and RB Cam Akers threw a TD pass. Browns rookie QB Dillon Gabriel threw two TD passes.

Colts 40-6 over the Raiders: QB Daniel Jones had two passing TDs and RB Jonathan Taylor had three rushing TDs plus a backup RB added another. QB Geno Smith had two interceptions and their kicker missed a field goal.

Cowboys 37-22 over the Jets: It was all QB Dak Prescott who threw four TD passes and RB Javonte Williams who caught one of those TD passes and added a rushing TD. QB Justin Fields did his best to come back with two 4th quarter TD passes and two 2 point conversions but it wasn’t enough.

Broncos 21-17 over the Eagles: The undefeated-Super Bowl champion Eagles were up 17-3 but blew the lead to get upset by the Broncos at home. QB Jalen Hurts did have two TD passes for the Eagles while QB Bo Nix only had one.

Panthers 27-24 over the Dolphins: QB Bryce Young threw the go-ahead TD pass with under two minutes left to secure the comeback win, his second TD of the game. RB Rico Dowdle was the real star with 206 yards rushing with a rushing TD. QB Tua Tagovailoa had three TD passes for Miami.

Texans 44-10 over the Ravens: QB CJ Stroud had four TD passes and K Ka’imi Fairbairn accounted for 14 of their points. Backup Ravens QB Cooper Rush had three interceptions with no TD passes and they missed a field goal.

Buccaneers 38-35 over the Seahawks: Tampa Bay hit the game winning field goal as time expired. K Chase McLaughlin accounted for 14 of their points while QB Baker Mayfield had two passing TDs and RB Rachaad White had two rushing TDs. QB Sam Darnold had four TD passes and RB Zach Charbonnet had a rushing TD but they missed a field goal. Darnold’s interception set up Tampa Bay’s field goal.                         

Saints 26-14 over the Giants: Rookie QB Jaxson Dart had two interceptions and one of the Giants’ three fumbles. One of those fumbles was returned for a TD. QB Spencer Rattler had a zero turnover game and K Blake Grupe accounted for 14 of their points.

Titans 22-21 over the Cardinals: The Titans hit the game winning field goal as time expired completing their 21-6 comeback. RB Tony Pollard had a rushing TD for Tennessee as rookie QB Cam Ward had no passing TDs. QB Kyle Murray had no passing TDs but had one of the team’s three rushing TDs. 

Commanders 27-10 over the Chargers: Los Angeles led 10-0 early but didn’t lead the rest of the game. Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt ran all over the Chargers for 111 yards and rushing TD, plus QB Jayden Daniels returned from injury with one passing TD.

Lions 37-24 over the Bengals: QB Jared Goff had three passing TDs and RB David Montgomery threw a TD pass on top of the rushing TD he had. Backup QB Jake Browning had three TD passes but all were in the 4th quarter but also had three interceptions, a fumble and was sacked in the end zone for a safety.

Patriots 23-20 over the Bills: New England hit the game winning field goal as time expired to complete the upset over the undefeated divisional rival Buffalo. RB Rhamondre Stevenson had two rushing TDs for the Patriots and QB Josh Allen had two passing TDs for his team.

Jaguars 31-28 over the Chiefs:  QB Trevor Lawrence had the game winning TD as he had a rushing TD, his second of the game as time expired to go with his passing TD. QB Patrick Mahomes had one passing and one rushing but it was RB Kareem Hunt who had two passing TDs which was the reason they were in the game. Jacksonville picked off QB Patrick Mahomes for a 99 yard return TD.
