NFL Recap Week 15 2018:

Chargers 29-28 over the Chiefs: The Chiefs went up 21-7 over the Chargers and their defense picked off QB Phillip Rivers twice. Things were looking good since QB Patrick Mahomes had 2 TD passes and his RB Damien Williams had 2 rushing TDS but Rivers did what he always does. When he is down 1 or more TDs late in the game he always seems to bail out his team. He led them on a 22-7 run with a passing TD and his 3rd string RB getting a TD. 3 of the 4 TD’s were scored by WR Mike Williams who had 2 receiving and one rushing, plus he converted the 2 point conversion.

Texans 29-22 over the Jets: Despite being up 16-9 entering the 2nd half the Texans had to score 13 straight points after blowing the lead and being down 22-17 in the 4th quarter, with a late TD to seal it to beat the lowly Jets. QB DeShaun Watson had a clean game with 2 TD passes and no interceptions with both of those TD passes going to WR DeAndre Hopkins. Even rookie QB Sam Darnold had a clean game with 2 TD passes and his 3rd string RB Elijah McGuire having a rushing TD. What killed the Jets was missing two extra points and McGuire fumbling the ball away.

Browns 17-16 over the Broncos: In a back and forth close game QB Baker Mayfield led his team for the go ahead TD. He finished with 2 TD passes with an interception while QB Case Keenum had 0 TD passes with two interceptions, but added a rushing TD for his team’s only TD.

Falcons 40-14 over the Cardinals: It was not rookie QB Josh Rosen’s day with a fumble, two interceptions with one being returned for a TD and no TD passes. He was also benched for QB Mike Glennon who actually threw a TD. RB David Johnson added the other TD but those were the only two highlights as it was all Falcons behind QB Matt Ryan. Ryan had 2 passing TDs and a rushing TD, plus RB Tevin Coleman had 145 yards rushing with a TD.

Ravens 20-12 over the Buccaneers: In a messy game QB Lamar Jackson outplayed QB Jameis Winston by having a passing TD while Winston had no passing TDs and an interception. Jackson did have a fumble but his TD was the difference since both teams RBS had a rushing TD.

Bills 14-13 over the Lions: QB Josh Allen outplayed QB Matthew Stafford by having a passing TD and a rushing TD compared to Stafford’s 1 TD pass. The Lions missed a field goal and a two point conversion which came back to haunt them as they could have been tied if they kicked the extra point.

Bears 24 -17 over the Packers: The Bears’ defense sacked QB Aaron Rodgers five times, picked him off and caused WR Randal Cobb to fumble. RB Jamaal Williams scored the only TD for the Packers as kicker Mason Crosby counted for 9 of the 17 points. QB Mitchell Trubisky had 2 TD passes, had a fumble but no interceptions, and RB Jordan Howard had a rushing TD.

Colts 23-0 over the Cowboys: QB Dak Prescott had no TD passes with an interception and RB Ezekiel Elliot had no rushing TDs with a fumble. Since the Cowboys turned the ball over twice it didn’t matter that QB Andrew Luck has no TD passes as RB Marlon Mack had 2 rushing TDs with 139 yards rushing for the Colts. Kicker Adam Vinatieri accounted for 11 of the points while the Cowboys had a field goal blocked.

Washington 16-13 over the Jaguars: QB Josh Johnson coming off a rushing TD and passing TD in a loss to the Giants had 1 passing TD to lead his team. His counterpart QB Cody Kessler had a fumble and an interception with no TDs. WR Dede Westbrook had a punt return TD for their only TD. Both teams should thank their kickers for keeping them in the game as Washington had 3 field goals and Jacksonville had two.

Viking 41-17 over Dolphins: After the Hail Mary miracle last week the Dolphins weren’t lucky today as they were blown out. QB Kirk Cousins had 2 TD passes and RBs Dalvin Cook had 2 rushing TDs with 136 yards rushing and Latavius Murray had 1 rushing TD. For Miami 4th string RB Kalen Ballage had their only offensive TD while rushing for 123 yards and the interception they got on Cousins was returned for a TD.

Titans 17-0 over the Giants: Despite missing a field goal it didn’t matter as RB Derek Henry who had 4 rushing TDs last week had two today as they blanked the Giants. QB Eli Manning had a fumble and interception with no passing TDs, and Tennessee kept RB Saquon Barkley quiet with 31 rushing yards only.

Bengals 30-16 over the Raiders: It was all RB Joe Mixon running all over the Raiders finishing with 219 yards rushing with 2 rushing TDs. Backup QB Jeff Driskel did have a TD pass but it was cancelled out by his interception. QB Derek Carr did have a TD pass but his team was down 20-7 entering the half and his team was outscored in the 2nd half as well. Plus, the Raiders fumbled the ball away twice.

Steelers 17-10 over the Patriots: Both veteran QBS had interceptions but Ben Roethlisberger (2) had 2 TDs compared to Tom Brady (1) throwing 1 TD pass. The Steelers led from the outset and just continued their lead all game.

49ers 26-23 over the Seahawks: Despite a two TD game by QB Russell Wilson with both going to WR Doug Baldwin and RB Chris Carson having a rushing TD with 119 yards rushing, it wasn’t enough to outlast the 49ers in OT. QB Nick Mullens didn’t outplay Wilson with only 1 TD but WR Richie James had a kick return TD. The real reason the 49ers won was kicker Robbie Gould accounting for 14 points while Seattle’s kicker Sebastian Janikowski missed an extra point.

Eagles 30-23 over the Rams: It was all about the RBS in this game as Todd Gurley had 2 rushing TDs for the only offensive TDs for LA and Josh Adams and Corey Clement combined for 3 rushing TDs. QB Jared Goff had two interceptions and a fumble for the Rams while QB Nick Foles starting in place of injured Carson Wentz had an interception.

Saints 12-9 over the Panthers: In a tough divisional game where both QBs Drew Brees and Cam Newton had no TD passes and both threw an interception it was all on Will Lutz’s feet and RB Alvin Kamara’s legs. Lutz hit two field goals and Kamara had a rushing TD. The oddity for the game was the Panthers RB Christian McCaffery throwing a TD pass and their getting two points a touch back.
