Cowboys 38-14 over the Redskins: QB Dak Prescott and the Cowboys had a turnover free game as he threw 2 TD passes to WR Dez Bryant and TE Jason Witten. Both RBS had a rushing TDS in Alfred Morris (127 yards rushing) and Rod Smith and Dallas also had a punt return TD. While Washington had five turnovers four by QB Kirk Cousins who had two interceptions and two fumbles, which cancels out his 2 TD passes.
Vikings 14-9 over the Falcons: The Vikings defense held QB Mat Ryan and Co TD less for the whole game. The Falcons missed a field goal as well as the offense was able to lead the time of possession by almost 9 minutes with their two headed monster running game. Also, QB Case Keenum had 2 TD passes and no turnovers.
Ravens 44-20 over the Lions: QB Matthew Stafford was hobbled and was facing a tough defense. He had two fumbles, interception and left the game with another injury. QB Joe Flacco had 2 TD passes and no interceptions. The game was led by RBS as the Lions had 2 rushing TDs by Theo Riddick and rookie Tion Green. But the star of the game was RB Alex Collins who had 2 rushing TDs on his own.
Patriots 23-3 over the Bills: QB Tyrod Taylor had an interception and left the game with an injury and the Bills used two other QBS. Raise your hand if knew Joe Webb was still in the league? The Patriots still won despite no TD passes from Tom Brady and throwing an interception. The star of the game was RB Rex Burkhead who had two rushing TDS in a field goal game.
49ers 15-14 over the Bears: QB Mitchell Trubisky had 1 TD no interception game but he had two fumbles though and a punt return TD from Tarik Cohen, but they couldn’t score the rest of the game. The defense even held the 49ers without a TD, as QB Jimmy Garoppolo had no TD passes and an interception and a fumble, but the hero of the game was former Bear Robbie Gould who hit five goals with the last one being the game winner.
Packers 26-20 over the Buccaneers: In his return from injury QB Jameis Winston had no interceptions and 2 TDs to TE Cameron Brate, but he had two fumbles. QB Brett Hundley didn’t have a good game as he had no TD passes and an interception. He was saved by his backup RBS each having rushing TDS with one a game winning TD in OT, and his defense recovering one of Winston’s fumbles for a TD.
Jaguars 30-10 over the Colts: It was decided by who made the least amount of turnovers by the QBs. QB Jacoby Brissett had 1 TD pass to WR TY Hilton but he had under 200 yards with two interceptions, while QB Blake Bortles had over 300 yards with two fumbles, he didn’t have any interceptions and 2 TD passes. Also RB Leonard Fournette added a rushing TD. RB Frank Gore passed Jerome Bettis and LaDainian Tomlinson to become the 5th on the all time list for rushing yards in NFL history.
Dolphins 35-9 over the Broncos: In the Jay Cutler bowl, he had two interceptions with one being his typical kind a return interception TD. He did have 2 TD passes compared to QB Trevor Siemian who had no TDs with three interceptions with one being returned for a TD as well. Miami also had a safety and RB Kenyan Drake had 120 yards rushing game with a TD.
Jets 38-31 over the Chiefs: For teams known for defense this was a high scoring affair as QB Alex Smith had 4 TD passes, no interceptions, with two each going to TE Travis Kelce and the other two going to WR Tyreek Hill, but they missed a field goal. QB Josh McCown might have had only 1 passing TD but he had two of his own rushing TDs and both RBS had a TD. RB Matt Forte caught McCown’s TD pass and RB Bilal Powell had a rushing TD. The difference was the Jets kicker hit all three field goals and the Jets led the time of possession 42 minutes to 17 for the Chiefs.
Titans 24-13 over the Texans: Both teams did have fumbles but the Titans have the better QB in Marcus Mariota who had no interceptions to 1 TD, while QB Tom Savage had an interception to 1 TD. Houston’s kicker missed two field goals to the Tennessee’s one missed field goal. The difference was Mariota and his RB Derrick Henry, both had rushing TDs.
Chargers 19-10 over the Browns: We all thought the Chargers would blow out the Browns but it was really all on their kicker who made four out of field goals accounting for 13 of their points. QB Phillip Rivers did have 1 TD pass but he and his WR both fumbled once in the game. While QB DeShone Kizer actually played the whole game but had a fumble and interception to wash out his 1 TD game, plus he was the team’s leading rusher which isn’t good. In his multiple year absence from the game due to drug suspensions, WR Josh Gordon did lead his team in receiving with 85 yards.
Saints 31-21 over the Panthers: Again it doesn’t matter if QB Drew Brees doesn’t have huge passing yardage or more then 1 TD pass, the Saints keep winning because of their RBS on offense. Mark Ingram led the team in rushing with 85 yards rushing with a TD and Alvin Kamara had two rushing TDs. The Saints defense also forced three fumbles and held QB Cam Newton below 200 yards, despite his 2 TD game. Again he was the team’s leading rusher which isn’t good. RB Jonathan Stewart did have a rushing TD.
Rams 32-16 over the Cardinals: Both QBs had a fumble and both had interceptions, one for QB Jared Goff and two for Blaine Gabbert. But the difference was Goff who had 2 TD passes to the 1 one by Gabbert. Also, one Gabbert’s interceptions were returned for a TD. The Cardinal’s kicker missed both an extra point and a field goal (blocked) compared to the Rams Greg Zuerlein’s perfect game accounting for 14 points. Adding to the fumble and interceptions, the Ram’s defense had six sacks as well. RB Todd Gurley led his team in both rushing and receiving yards.
Raiders 24-17 over the Giants: The Raiders ran all over the Giants defense as Marshawn Lynch had 101 yards rushing with a rushing TD. The backup DeAndre Washington had a rushing TD as well, despite the three fumbles out of the four on the day came by the other RB Jalen Richard. QB Geno Smith did hold his own since he had no interceptions and threw a TD pass to TE Evan Engram, but his two fumbles did him in. QB Derek Carr did have the same amount of TD passes but he didn’t turn the ball over.
Seahawks 24-10 over the Eagles: Well the game was decided by the QB, as Carson Wentz had a bad game with two fumbles and interception with his lone TD pass, while QB Russell Wilson had no turnovers and 3 TD passes.
Steelers 23-20 over the Bengals: QB Andy Dalton has been on fire this time as he had 2 TD passes both to WR AJ Green, and had no turnovers something he usually does. But it wasn’t enough as the Steelers came back from a 17 point deficit to make a game winning field goal as time expired. QB Ben Roethlisberger overcame an interception to throw 2 TD passes to his usual suspects in WR Antonio Brown, who was questionable to play, and RB Le’Veon Bell. Roethlisberger became the 8th player with 50,000 passing yards. Brown passed Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison for the most receptions and receiving yards over a five year span in NFL history.
