NFL Recap Week 8 2020:

Falcons 25-17 over the Panthers: RB Todd Gurley scored a 4th quarter TD to push the lead further and then QB Teddy Bridgewater threw an interception to seal the game for Atlanta in the final minute. WR Curtis Samuel scored both Carolina TDs with one receiving and one rushing.

Dolphins 28-17 over the Rams: In rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa’s debut he had one passing TD with no interceptions and his RB had a rushing TD. His defense picked off QB Jared Goff twice, forced three fumbles with one being returned for a TD. His special teams had a punt return TD plus the Rams missed a field goal. The Ram’s only TD’s were by WR Robert Woods who had both a receiving and a rushing TD. 

Chiefs 35-9 over the Jets: QB Patrick Mahomes had 416 yards passing with five TD passes to his usual receiving core of TE Travis Kelce, receivers Mecole Hardman, Demarcus Robinson and Tyreek Hill, who had two. All the Jets scoring came off field goals with one blocked and they had a fumble too.

Vikings 28-22 over the Packers: It was the RB Dalvin Cook show in his return from injury as he had 163 yards rushing, was the leading receiver with 63 yards, had three rushing TDs and one receiving TD. QB Aaron Rodgers did have three passing TDs all to WR Davante Adams.

Colts 41-21 over the Lions: QB Phillip Rivers had three passing TDs two to RB Nyheim Hines, RB Jordan Wilkins had a rushing TD, and TE Trey Burton added a rushing TD. The Lions had a missed field goal, three fumbles and QB Matthew Stafford threw an interception that was returned for a TD. Stafford did throw 3 TD passes but it was already out of hand when he threw his final two TD passes.

Raiders 16-6 over the Browns: This game had two missed field goals, two fumbles and only one TD, which was a pass by Derek Carr, overall a sloppy game.

Bengals 31-20 over the Titans: The Bengals went up 17-7 in the first half thanks to their rushing game that had two rushing TDs, and then rookie QB Joe Burrow finished it off nicely in the 2nd half with two passing TDs. RB Giovani Bernard caught one of those TD passes and had one of those rushing TDs. Meanwhile QB Ryan Tannehill did have two passing TDs but he threw an interception, and RB Derrick Henry had his usual rushing TD but their team missed another field goal.

Bills 24-21 over the Patriots: QB Cam Newton who did have a rushing TD (one of two on the day for New England) in the 4th quarter fumbled the ball towards the end of the game, to seal the game for the Bills. QB Josh Allen also only had a rushing TD with no passing TDs, and RB Zack Moss had two rushing TDs for the Bills.

Steelers 28-24 over the Ravens: QB Ben Roethlisberger threw a clutch 4th quarter TD pass one of his two for the game. QB Lamar Jackson also threw a 4th quarter TD pass for his 2nd of the game, but he also fumbled the ball away towards the end of game, his third fumble of the day. Jackson also had two interceptions with one being returned for a TD and his team had another fumble. The other TDs were rushing TDs for both teams one for Baltimore’s Gus Edwards and the other by Pittsburgh’s James Connor.

Seahawks 37-27 over the 49ers: QB Russell Wilson threw 4 TD passes and his 4th string RB caught one of those TD passes and added a rushing TD. The 49ers fumbled the ball away three times and QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw an interception. Backup QB Nick Mullens though did his best in the 4th quarter to throw two passing TDs and overall the 49ers RB by committee team added two rushing TDs.

Broncos 31-30 over the Chargers: QB Drew Lock threw the game winning TD as time expired to lead his team who were down 24-10 heading into the 4th quarter.  Lock had three TD passes total and RB Phillip Lindsay added a rushing TD. QB Justin Herbert did also have three passing TDs but had two interceptions.

Saints 26-23 over the Bears (OT): The Saints hit a game winning field goal in overtime. Both QBs threw two TD passes, but Foles had an interception and Brees had a fumble.

Eagles 23-9 over the Cowboys: Despite three fumbles with two from QB Carson Wentz plus his two interceptions, the Eagles held on with two TD passes by Wentz. The third string Cowboys QB had two of his team’s three fumbles, his team missed a field goal and his special teams got sacked in the end zone. 

Buccaneers 25-23 over the Giants: The Giants had the lead going into the 4th quarter but QB Tom Brady led his team to a 4th quarter TD and a field goal while the QB Daniel Jones threw an interception and failed to covert on a two point conversion at the end. Jones did have two total TD passes but two interceptions while Brady had two total TD passes.
