Texans 20-17 over the Colts: Despite throwing an interception and being down late QB Deshaun Watson threw one of his 2 TD passes in the 4th quarter which ended up being the deciding TD in the game. While the opposing QB Jacoby Brissett had 0 TD passes but had a rushing TD.
Bills 20-3 over the Broncos: QB Josh Allen threw 2 TD passes in the 2nd half and his defense held Denver to one field goal, had them punt eight times, sacked the opposing QB four times and picked him off once.
Bears 19-14 over the Giants: The Bears offense again looked horrible in the 1st half but things turned around in the 2nd half as QB Mitchell Trubisky had both a passing TD and rushing TD. LB Khalil Mack’s forced fumble was key to one of those late TDs, plus the Giants kicker missed two field goals.
Buccaneers 35-22 over the Falcons: In a game where QB Jameis Winston has two interceptions, his kicker misses a few extra points you would think the Falcons could take advantage and win. Nope QB Matt Ryan had an interception, fumbled the ball twice which led to one being recovered for a TD. This led to his being benched for QB Matt Schaub who did throw their only passing TD of the game, when the game was already sealed. Winston had the better day with 3 TD passes.
Steelers 16-10 over the Bengals: This was the game where Cincinnati could have gotten their 1st win of the season because both RB James Conner and WR Juju Smith-Schuster were out, plus they benched QB Mason Rudolph. The Bengals had four total fumbles, two of which were by their QB Ryan Finley who had 1 TD pass, while Rudolph didn’t have any but still lost because they could not score whatsoever, as the Steelers forced them to punt 9 times. Steelers’ kicker Chris Boswell accounted for 10 of the 16 points they had.
Browns 41-24 over the Dolphins: QB Baker Mayfield threw 3 TD passes and both of his RBS added rushing TDs. While QB Ryan Fitzpatrick did his best to get the Dolphins back in the game after being down 28-3 at half time with 2 passing TDs and a rushing TD but threw two interceptions.
Saints 34-31 over the Panthers: Both QBs Drew Brees and Kyle Allen had 3 TD passes and both of them had a RB add a rushing TD. It all came down to the kicking as the Saints’ Will Lutz hit the game-winner, and the Panthers’ Joe Slye missed the potential game winning field goal plus two extra points.
34-3 Jets over the Raiders: QB Sam Darnold had 2 passing TDs and a rushing TD while his defense picked off QB Derek Carr once, which was returned for a TD and forced QB Mike Glennon to fumble three times. Oakland also missed one of their field goals.
Washington 19-16 over the Lions: Washington’s defense had three interceptions and two forced fumbles while their special teams had a kick return TD. Washington also had no offensive points as QB Dwayne Haskins had an interception and a fumble of his own. It also didn’t help Detroit when they missed a field goal.
Seahawks 17-9 over the Eagles: In a sloppy game where QB Russell Wilson had 1 TD pass but an interception, one of his team’s two fumbles, while QB Carson Wentz had 1 TD pass as well but two interceptions, and three of his team’s four fumbles. It came down to the backup RB in Seattle adding a rushing TD.
Titans 42-20 over the Jaguars: The Titans ran all over the Jaguars as RB Derek Henry had 159 yards rushing with 2 rushing TDs, and QB Ryan Tannehill had 2 rushing TDs to go with his 2 passing TDs.
Patriots 13-9 over the Cowboys: The Patriots forced two fumbles, picked off QB Dak Prescott once and held him to under 200 yards passing, plus they held RB Ezekiel Elliot to under 90 yards rushing. The Cowboys also missed a field goal. The defense for New England did their part so all QB Tom Brady while nursing an injury had to do was throw 1 TD, but a reoccurring issue is kicker Nick Folk who missed two field goals something he has done since taking over as kicker.
49ers 37-8 over the Packers: QB Jimmy Garoppolo had 2 TD passes and his RBs added two rushing TDS. The 49ers defense forced QB Aaron Rodgers to fumble and held him to a lone TD pass in the 2nd half, plus sacked him five times.
Ravens 45-6 over the Rams: QB Lamar Jackson dominated the Rams with 5 TD passes while RB Mark Ingram added a rushing TD, and also caught one of the TD passes from Jackson. QB Jared Goff had 0 TDs with two interceptions and a fumble. At one point the Ravens scored six times on six straight possessions.
Bye Week: Cardinals, Chiefs, Chargers & Vikings.
