Colts 21-7 over the Texans: It was all Colts early going up 21-0 in the 1st half. QB Andrew Luck had 2 TD passes and RB Marlon Mack had a 148 rushing yards with a rushing TD. QB DeShaun Watson did all he could with 1 TD pass and lead his team in rushing yards but was sacked three times and picked off once. This proved the Colts defense is actually as good as they have shown recently as they also held WR DeAndre Hopkins to only 37 yards receiving.
Cowboys 24-22 over the Seahawks: QB Russell Wilson again tried to do it all himself with a passing TD and a rushing TD but it wasn’t enough as his team’s defense and special teams let him down. QB Dak Prescott had a passing TD and a rushing TD, plus RB Ezekiel Elliot had a rushing TD with 132 yards rushing. Seattle’s kicker Sebastian Janikowski missed a field goal and left the game win an injury so they had to go for two points twice.
Chargers 23-17 over the Ravens: The Chargers led for the whole game despite a 17 point 2nd half attempted comeback from rookie QB Lamar Jackson’s 2 TD passes. Jackson’s interception, three fumbles and RB Kenneth Dixon having a fumble did not help in trying to come back. Justin tucker missed a field goal which is surprising but the Chargers also missed a field goal. Kicker Michael Badgley has a huge game with 5 field goals despite missing that field goal since QB Phillip Rivers had 0 TD passes. WR Michael Crabtree caught both of Baltimore’s TDs while RB Melvin Gordon got the only TD for Los Angeles.
Eagles 16-15 over the Bears: It was a field goal game before QB Nick Foles threw a TD pass after throwing two interceptions. The Bears then followed it up with another TD pass from QB Mitchell Trubisky. Eventually Foles led his team to a late TD on 4th down and the Bears wasted two timeouts leaving Trubisky with one. He did his best to lead his team down the field with 50 seconds but didn’t know if he had a timeout and took forever to spike the ball wasting more time. Instead of trying to get more yards of any kind he airmailed one into the end zone way over his receiver. Then the Eagles head coach Doug Pederson perfectly iced the Bears kicker Cody Parkey who isn’t a great kicker and of course he made the 1st attempt but missed the 2nd ending the Bears season.
