NFL Recap Week 16 2018:

Titans 25-16 over Washington: The Titans defense had two interceptions with one being returned for a TD by CB Malcom Butler and sacked QB Josh Johnson twice. They held them to only 1 TD. QB Marcus Mariota got hurt again and backup QB Blain Gabbert led them for a late TD plus RB Derek Henry was at it again with another rushing TD, his 7th in the last 4 games.

Ravens 22-10 over the Chargers: The Ravens’ defense had a fumble recovery TD, sacked QB Phillip Rivers 4 times, and intercepted him twice. They held the Chargers offense to 198 yards total. For Baltimore’s offense it was a TD pass by Lamar Jackson and Justin Tucker’s foot that took care of the scoring.

Colts 28-27 over the Giants: The Giants went up 17-7 at half time due to QB Eli Manning having 1 passing TD and one rushing TD. New York led 21-14 before QB Andrew Luck woke up and led this team on a 14-3 run to come out on top at the end to finish with 2 TD passes. Both RBs Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines had rushing TDs for the Colts, and RB Saquon Barkley had a rushing TD for the Giants.

Jaguars 17-7 over the Dolphins: There were three combined fumbles in this game, both teams even missed a field goal and Jacksonville used both of their QBS. RB Leonard Fournette got a rushing TD for Jacksonville and QB Ryan Tannehill had the only passing TD in the game but his interception was returned for a TD, which was the difference in the game.

Falcons 24-10 over the Panthers: This is what happens when your franchise QB is out for the season. You only score 10 points, your backup throws three interceptions and fumbles plus your 3rd string QB also comes in. On the other side QB Matt Ryan had 3 TD passes with one going to WR Julio Jones. RB Christian McCaffrey has the most receptions for a RB in a single season in NFL history.

Browns 26-18 over the Bengals: The Browns QB Baker Mayfield had 3 TD passes and RB Nick Chubb had 112 yards rushing in another revenge game against their former coach Hue Jackson. That put his team up 23-0 entering the 3rd quarter as this was too much for backup QB Jeff Driskel who did have 2 TD passes which is courageous when you don’t have WR AJ Green.

Cowboys 27-20 over the Buccaneers: It was all QB Dak Prescott who had a passing TD and a rushing TD. QB James Winston did have a TD with no interceptions but had two costly fumbles with one being returned for a TD which led to the loss. RB Jacquizz Rodgers did have a rushing TD.

Vikings 27-9 over the Lions: QB Kirk Cousins had 3 TD passes with two of them going to TE Kyle Rudolph who had 122 yards receiving. On the other side QB Matthew Stafford didn’t throw a TD pass and QB Matt Cassel came in for him which means now we know he’s on the Lions. They only could muster three field goals.

Patriots 24-12 over the Bills: The Bills missed a field goal, had a fumble and QB Josh Allen had two interceptions which isn’t a good formula to win a game but especially not VS the Patriots to cost yourself points and possessions. Both RBS for New England had rushing TDs in James White and Sony Mitchel while QB Tom Brady threw a TD pass to WR Julian Edelman.

Packers 44-38 over the Jets: QB Aaron Rodgers had a highlight game with 442 yards passing with 2 TD passes one that was the game winner in OT and two rushing TD’s, plus he ran in for a two point conversion. While rookie QB Sam Darnold had a great game 3 TD passes with one of them going to RB Elijah McGuire who also added a rushing TD, plus they had a kick return TD. The Jets missed a field goal was but that wasn’t the difference as this game. It was all about Rodgers as he is on a mission to prove it was Mike McCarthy’s fault.

Eagles 32-30 over the Texans: Backup QB Nick Foles shredded the vaunted Texans’ defense for 4 TD passes for 471 yards passing with 2 of them going to TE Zach Ertz who had 110 yards receiving. It wasn’t a bad game for Texans’ QB DeShaun Watson who had 2 TD passes and 2 rushing TDs but he had a fumble. His kicker missed an extra point and it was his defense that blew the game when he had them leading entering half time and led them to a lead late in the game. Eagles won with a game winning field goal. TE Zach Ertz has the most receptions by a TE in NFL history in a single game.

Rams 31-9 over the Cardinals: The only TD the Cardinals scored was by the only two good players on their team; WR Larry Fitzgerald threw a TD to RB David Johnson. The Rams QB Jared Goff didn’t have the best game with 1 TD pass to WR Robert Woods but he had a rushing TD. Woods and CJ Anderson also had rushing TDs. Anderson was just picked up just the other week and finished with 167 yards in place of the injured Todd Gurley.

Bears 14-9 over the 49ers: The Bears came out on top in a close road game as their defense held the 49ers without a TD despite two lost fumbles and a missed field goal. They picked off QB Nick Mullens while holding him to 241 yards passing and their RBS to 47 yards causing them to only kick field goals. QB Mitchell Trubisky had 1 TD pass and RB Jordan Howard added a rushing TD. The Bears have won 11 games for the 1st time since 2010.

Saints 31-28 over the Steelers: QB Ben Roethlisberger outplayed QB Drew Brees with 3 TDS compared to 1. Two of those TD passes went to WR Antonio Brown who had 185 yards receiving. Brees threw that TD pass to WR Michal Thomas who had 109 yards receiving and RB Alvin Kamara had 2 rushing TDs, with RB Mark Ingram adding another rushing TD. The difference was the Steelers having 3 fumbles and no rushing attack.

Seahawks 38-31 over the Chiefs: Both QBS (Patrick Mahomes& Russell Wilson) had 3 TD passes with no interceptions or fumbles while the difference was RB Chris Carson having 2 rushing TDs. Plus, Kansas City fumbled the ball away twice.

Raiders 27-14 over the Broncos: Behind WR Dwayne Harris’ 99 yard punt return and both RBs (Doug Martin and Jalen Richard) scoring rushing TDS, the Raiders won for what could be their last time in Oakland as Martin rushed for 107 yards. The difference was Denver kicking themselves in the foot as QB Case Keenum had two interceptions and a fumble that canceled out his 2 TD passes, plus their kicker missed a field goal.
