NFL Recap Week 3 2018:

Browns 21-17 over the Jets: The Jets were leading 14-3 entering the half as former Browns RB Isaiah Crowell had two rushing TDs. QB Tyrod Taylor left the game due to injury and the #1 overall pick QB Baker Mayfield came into the game and led his team to a comeback victory. Mayfield had 201 yards passing along with catching a 2-point conversion after two rushing TDs by RB Carlos Hyde. The Browns picked off QB Sam Darnold two times.

Saints 43-37 over the Falcons: It was a shootout as QB Matt Ryan had 5 TD passes compared to QB Drew Brees having 3 TD passes, but Brees had 2 rushing TDs. His QB rushing TDs were the game tying and game winner in overtime. A big difference in the game was the Saints kicking three goals compared to none by the Falcons. Brees passed Brett Favre for the most career completions in this game.

Redskins 31-17 over the Packers: It was the RB Adrian Peterson and QB Alex Smith show as they dominated the Packers defense by scoring 28 points in the first half. Peterson had 120 yards rushing with 2 TDs and Smith had 2 TD passes. QB Aaron Rodgers did have 2 TD passes but it was too little to late as they were down by too much.

Eagles 20-16 over the Colts: Both QBs did not look great as QB Andrew Luck had 1 TD pass but only 165 yards passing while QB Carson Wentz had more yards with 255 yards with a TD pass but threw an interception. It was essentially a field goal game besides from RB Wendell Smallwood sealing the deal at the end with a rushing TD, which was the difference since Luck led his team in rushing yards which isn’t good news.

Bills 27-6 over the Vikings: This was the biggest upset of the day/ in years even bigger than Washington beating the Packers, or the Lions beating the Patriots since the Bills didn’t have an answer at QB, offensive line and defense while the Vikings are one of the top teams on defense. QB Josh Allen had two rushing TDs and one passing TD (he did have three fumbles though). While QB Kirk Cousins had 1 TD pass with an interception and 3 fumbles and his good running game was nowhere to be found while his leading rusher had 11 yards only. This was an anomaly the Vikings are still a good team and the Bills are still a bad team.

Dolphins 28-20 over the Raiders: We all think QB Derek Carr is more talented then QB Ryan Tannehill but Carr had two interceptions with only 1 TD pass compared to Tannehill’s 3 TD pass no interception game. Even WR Albert Wilson had a passing TD. Only positive for Oakland was WR Jordy Nelson who had 173 yards with his 1st TD pass as a Raider, and RB Marshawn Lynch had a rushing TD.

Ravens 24-14 over the Broncos: Both teams had two rushing TDs; with one coming from a WR in Emmanuel Sanders for the Broncos. It always will come down to who has the better QB. QB Joe Flacco is a better QB than Case Keenum, even if both fumbled but it was Flacco with the TD pass not the interception that Keenum also had. Also, the Ravens kicked two field goals compared to zero by the Broncos. RB Buck Allen had one of the Raven’s rushing TDs and caught that Flacco TD pass as well.

Panthers 31-21 over the Bengals: It was not QB Andy Dalton’s day since he had four interceptions despite having 2 TD passes, and his backup RB Gio Bernard had a rushing TD. It was QB Cam Newton’ day though with 2 TD passes and 2 rushing TDs plus his kicker made his field goal to seal the deal in the 4th quarter as the Bengals missed their only field goal attempt.

Titans 9-6 over the Jaguars: It was QB Blake Bortles VS Blaine Gabbert the battle of bad Jaguars QBS both had no interceptions but no passing TDs, It was the same for Marcus Mariota or any of the RBS. But Bortles and Donte Moncrieff fumbled the ball away and the Titans missed a field goal but someone had to win this game as the Titans kicked the game winner.

Chiefs 38-27 over the 49ers: Despite a 3 fumble day by QB Jimmy Garoppolo he had no interceptions with 2 TD passes with 251 yards passing, 23 yards rushing and his running game looked good as RB Matt Breida had 90 yards rushing, and RB Alfred Morris had a rushing TD. But it was all about QB Patrick Mahomes who did have a fumble but had 314 yards passing with 3 TD passes with one going to WR Sammy Watkins who made up for a fumble in the game. While RB Kareem Hunt had 2 rushing TDs but the biggest news was Garoppolo running for extra yards and tearing his ACL which ends his season.

Rams 35-23 over the Chargers: Both QB’s had big games in the battle of LA QBS. QB Phillip Rivers throwing 2 TD passes and no interceptions, but his team fumbled it twice. While QB Jared Goff had 3 TD passes but an interception and both lead backs Melvin Gordon, and Todd Gurley had rushing TDs. But the difference was the Rams blocking a punt which was returned for a TD. The Chargers were down by a lot again pushing the limits on Rivers trying to will his team from behind again.

Seahawks 24-13 over the Cowboys: The Cowboys did not show up for the game on the road as QB Dak Prescott had two interceptions with his TD pass coming at the end of the game and RB Ezekiel Elliot had no rushing TDs with a fumble. While QB Russell Wilson wasn’t running for his life as he was able to throw 2 TD passes and his RB Chris Carson had a 102 yards game with a rushing TD.

Bears 16-14 over the Cardinals: The Bears were losing 14-0 very quickly as QB Sam Bradford threw 2 TD passes which were the 1st TDs of the season for the Cardinals. But the Bears defense quickly adjusted and caused two fumbles and picked Bradford off two times as well. They even picked off rookie QB Josh Rosen as well. There were 4 total sacks two by LB Khalil Mack. Despite missing a field goal Cody Parkey did most of the scoring with 3 field goals, and RB Jordan Howard had a rushing TD.

Giants 27-22 over the Texans: QB Eli Manning and RB Saquon Barkley outplayed QB DeShaun Watson and RB Lamar Miller. Manning had 2 TD passes with no interceptions while Watson had 2 TD passes but had an interception, and Barkley had a rushing TD with 117 total purpose yards compared to Miller’s 1 passing TD but only 51 yards total.

Lions 26-10 over the Patriots: In the 2nd biggest upset of the day QB Matthew Stafford out dueled QB Tom Brady with 2 TD passes compared to Brady’s only 1 but they both threw an interception. The Lions get their 1st 100 yard rusher in 70 games by Kerryon Johnson’s 101 yards rushing. This was not Theo Riddick, LeGarrette Blount or even Ameer Abdullah but Johnson. Plus they kicked four field goals compared to one by the Patriots.

Steelers 30-27 over the Buccaneers: Well “Fitzmagic” wasn’t all that in the 1st half with 3 interceptions but tried to will his team from behind by throwing 2 late TD passes. But one of those interceptions was returned for TD which ultimately killed the Buccaneers chances of winning the game. While QB Ben Roethlisberger had 3 TD passes as well but only one interception, with one TD pass going to WR Antonio Brown.
