NFL Recap Week 11 2017:

Steelers 40-17 over the Titans: The Titans had all this buzz around them as the team to win the division and be a top team, but they didn’t play like an up and coming top team whatsoever. The Steelers blew them out as QB Ben Roethlisberger had 4 TD passes and just less than 300 yards passing (299), as WR Antonio Brown caught 3 of those TD passes and had 144 yards receiving. While on defense they picked off QB Marcus Mariota four times and sacked him five times. Their kicker accounted for 16 points on his own, a complete owning on all sides of the ball.

Giants 12-9 over the Chiefs: The Giants finally won another game and this time it was against a potential playoff team. They also got very lucky as QB Alex Smith had two interceptions something he rarely does, having only one coming into the game. The Giants did score the only TD of the game, as RB Orleans Darkwa scored a TD but they missed the extra point and only won in OT on a game winning field goal.

Buccaneers 30-20 over the Dolphins: The difference in this game was QB play as Jay Cutler had three interceptions to 1 TD pass and left the game win an injury. Ryan Fitzpatrick who is filling in for injured Jameis Winston had no interceptions and 2 TD passes. The Buccaneers defense added to those three interceptions with four fumbles and one was picked up and returned for a TD. The other difference was Miami settling for mostly field goals instead of TDs as kicker Cody Parker accounted for 8 of their points.

Lions 27-24 over the Bears: The Bears played a competitive game as they were in it for the whole game with positives for rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky. He had no interceptions and 1 TD pass but he fumbled the ball and that fumble led to a return TD for Detroit. While QB Matthew Stafford had 2 TD passes and no interceptions and his fumble didn’t prove deadly. He led this team down the field for a game winning field goal. Both Bears RBS had TDS. Jordan Howard had 125 yards rushing to go with that TD run, and Tarik Cohen had the other rushing TD. But the kicker Connor Barth missed a potential game tying field goal.

Saints 34-31 over the Redskins: Despite QB Kirk Cousins (3 TD passes and one fumble) out playing QB Drew Brees (2 TD passes and one interception) the Saints pulled off the overtime win as both his RBS again had a good game. RBS Mark Ingram (rushing TD with 134 yards rushing and Alvin Kamara (receiving TD and two point conversion) each had a TD. Washington’s RB had a good game too as he was filling in for injured Robert Kelly and Chris Thompson who left the game (out for the season) with an injury. Samaje Perine had 117 yards rushing with a TD.

Vikings 24-7 over the Rams: It was the Casey Keenum Bowl despite only having 1 TD pass his team came out on top VS his former team the Rams. The Vikings defense held QB Jared Goff without a TD pass, and only allowed one TD the whole game which was a RB Todd Gurley rushing TD. Keenum’s TD pass was to WR Adam Thielen who also had 123 yards receiving. The star of the game was RB Latavius Murray who had 2 rushing TDS.

Texans 31-21 over the Cardinals: In a battle of backup QBS the game was a mess which is what we all would think. QB Blaine Gabbert had 2 interceptions, and a fumble, but did he have 3 TD passes which went to WR Larry Fitzgerald and the other 2 went to TE Ricky Seal-Jones. But it was the Texans who came out on top despite QB Tom Savage fumble (four total for his team), interceptions, and only 2 TD passes. Like clockwork it doesn’t matter the QB WR DeAndre Hopkins will lead the team in receiving or have a TD which he did both today. RB Lamar Miller didn’t have the greatest day a rusher but he did catch the other TD pass. The real difference in the game was rookie RB D’Onta Forman having 2 rushing TD’s, his first career TDs.

Jaguars 19-7 over the Browns: The difference in this ugly game was that QB Blake Bortles had no interceptions (he fumbled twice and his team fumbled five times as a whole), while QB DeShone Kizer had 2 interceptions with three fumbles. They both had a 1 TD pass but also Kizer was the leading rusher for his team which isn’t good (22 yards). One of those fumbles led to a TD for Jacksonville in the fourth quarter. With an early lead RB Leonard Fournette iced the clock with 111 yards rushing.

Ravens 23-0 over the Packers: Even if QB Joe Flacco had less than 200 yards, passing, one interception and 1 TD pass to WR Mike Wallace, the Packers kept shooting themselves in the foot. It is the same thing again for Green Bay without QB Aaron Rodgers, they can’t score and are wasting their talented WRS. QB Brett Hundley had three interceptions, a fumble, and a RB & a WR had three fumbles combined. They wasted a 126 yards receiving game by WR Davante Adams. The Ravens sacked Hundley six times while kicker Justin Tucker did the rest with three field goals (11 points).

Chargers 54-24 over the Bills: The headlines going to the game were QB Tyrod Taylor benched (to see what they have before draft) in QB Nate Peterman (5th round pick), despite the team having a winning record and trading for a #1 WR in Kelvin Benjamin. Also, QB Phillip Rivers checked himself into the concussion protocol so he wasn’t sure if he was going to play (chance to lose the streak of 194 consecutive starts since 2006). Well Peterman had five interceptions in his debut with one being returned for a TD and the Chargers recovered a fumble for a TD as well. Rivers led his team to a blow out with 2 TD passes both going to WR Keenan Allen (156 yards receiving). RBS Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler each had a rushing TD. With such a huge lead Rivers sat late in the game and Kellen Clemens came in for him. Taylor came in to lead some sort of comeback with his own rushing and a passing TD to LeSean McCoy, who also had a rushing TD for 114 rushing yards.

Bengals 20-17 over the Broncos: Well QB Andy Dalton was interception free with 3 TD passes with one going to WR AJ Green. While the Bengals picked off QB Brock Osweiler and caused CJ Anderson to fumble, which cancelled out the passing TD to Demaryius Thomas and Anderson’s rushing TD.

Patriots 33-8 over the Raiders (In Mexico City): The difference again and always QB Tom Brady (339 yards passing) 3 TD passes no interceptions compared to QB Derek Carr who had 1 TD with an interception. The Patriots defense added a fumble to that interception and kicker Stephen Gostkowski made four field goals. WR Brandin Cooks who caught one of those TD passes from Brady had 149 yards rushing.

Eagles 37-9 over the Cowboys: Again the Eagles dominated on both sides of the ball. The defense had four sacks, three interceptions and a forced fumble. QB Carson Wentz had 2 TD passes and no interceptions. The Cowboys only could muster three field goals. Backup RBS Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner each had rushing TDs.

Falcons 34-31 over the Seahawks: Seattle was really missing Richard Sherman and Cam Chancellor. They let the QB Matt Ryan throw 2 TD passes and RB Tevin Coleman get a rushing TD. While QB Russell Wilson tried to do too much as he did have 2 TD passes to his usual suspects in WR Doug Baldwin and TE Jimmy Graham. But he had an interception and his fumble led to a Falcons recovery TD. He also had to lead his team in rushing and scored their rushing TD as well. But again the story was kicker Blair Walsh missing crucial field goals as he missed the game tying field goal.
