NFL Recap Week 16 2016:

Eagles 24-19 over the Giants: 1. The Eagles were up by so much they even put in their backup QB Chase Daniel in after RB Darren Sproles and WR Nelson Agholor had TDS. 2. On the defensive side Philly picked off QB Eli Manning three times and returned one for a TD. 3. Manning’s only good play was his TD pass to rookie WR Sterling Shepherd for consecutive weeks with a TD. WRS Odell Beckham JR and Victor Cruz both had good games but the Giants settled for 4 field goals. The loss clinched the division for the Cowboys but the Giants did clinch a seed for the playoffs.

Packers 38-25 over the Vikings: 1. QB Aaron Rodgers had a huge game of 4 TD passes and over 340 yards and got time to rest at the end of the game as his backup came into the game in this blowout. WR Jordy Nelson had a huge game of 2 of those TD passes and 154 yards. 2. Minnesota was no slouch on offense but their defense finally buckled and had another bad game being down 21-13 at halftime. QB Sam Bradford had 3 TD passes and no picks with two of those going to WR Adam Thielen who also had 202 yards.

Jaguars 38-17 over the Titans: 1. QB Blake Bortles threw 1 TD pass to WR Marquise Lee and Lee threw him 1 TD pass as well. Bortles had a clean game as well which is good progress from earlier in the season, and RB Chris Ivory had a rushing TD too. The defense had an interception returned for a TD after finding out QB Matt Cassel is still in the league, the former Patriots, Chief and Vikings came in for the injured Marcus Mariota who is out for the season with a fractured tibia. 2. Before the injury Mariota connected with WR Rishard Matthews for a TD as TE Delanie Walker had his TD pass thrown by Cassel.

Patriots 41-3 over the Jets: 1. QB Tom Brady threw 3 TD passes and RB LeGarrette Blunt had 2 rushing TDS as the Jets were blown out, and Brady’s backup Jimmy Garoppolo even came in. 2. Their defense forced a fumble and three picks, two from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, and one from rookie Bryce Petty. 3. The Jets did force a fumble on Brady but didn’t really matter as the offense only got a field goal.

Browns 20-17 over the Chargers: 1. Despite both QBS RG3 and Cody Kessler not throwing a TD pass, the Browns finally won a game as RB Isaiah Crowell was the hero of the game with 2 rushing TDS. 2. QB Phillip Rivers had another messy game with a fumble and pick but did have 2 TD passes, one to TE Antonio Gates and WR Dontrelle Inman.

Redskins 41-21 over the Bears: 1. QB Kirk Cousins only had 1 TD pass but he had 2 rushing TDS as they blew out the Bears on two rushing TDS by RBS Chris Thompson and Mack Brown, both backups as Thompson caught Cousins lone TD pass. 2. Washington picked off Matt Barkley five times and the Bears kicker missed a field goal. 3. The lone bright spot was rookie Jordan Howard’s 128 all purpose yards, who has been playing in place of Jeremy Langford who scored a TD in the game too.

Falcons 33-16 over the Panthers: It was a 7 field goal game but a blow out by the Falcons who have won their division. 1. QB Matt Ryan had 2 TD passes and RB Tevin Coleman had 135 all purpose yards and rushing TD, as their defense picked off QB Cam Newton two times. 2. Carolina’s only scoring outside of the field goals was a TD by WR Kelvin Benjamin.

Dolphins 34-31 over the Bills: 1. In place of injured QB Ryan Tannehill, Matt Moore had 2 TD passes but had a pick. RB Jay Ajayi had 206 rushing yards and a TD while his backup had a TD as well. Miami hit a game winning field goal in OT. 2. QB Tyrod Taylor has a surprise year but in this game had 3 TD passes and over 320 yards passing while rushing for 60 yards. WR Sammy Watkins caught one of those TD passes while having 154 yards, and TE Charles Clay had the other TD passes. RB LeSean McCoy had 145 all purpose yards and a rushing TD too.

Raiders 33-25 over the Colts: It was a bittersweet win for Oakland as they eliminated the Colts from playoff contention but lost QB Derek Carr to a season ending injury of a broken tibia. 1. Carr had 3 TD passes and back-up RB DeAndre Washington had 2 rushing TDS and over 100 all purpose yards. 3. Oakland forced a fumble and picked off QB Andrew Luck two times. 4. But the Colts defense had Luck playing from behind again as they scored 11 straight unanswered points in the 4th quarter. Luck had 2 passing TDS and a rushing TD on the day but it wasn’t enough.

49ers 22-21 over the Rams: In a close divisional game there was only scoring in the 1st and 4th quarter of this game. 1. QB Colin Kapernick had 2 passing TDs, a pick, rushing TD, and a two point conversion, while rookie QB Jared Goff had 1 TD pass but two picks. 2. Los Angeles RB Todd Gurley had a rushing TD and so did WR Tavon Austin as well. 3. SF had a forced fumble and two picks while LA had two forced fumbles and pick.

Cardinals 34-31 over the Seahawks: 1. Despite QB Russell Wilson’s 4 TD passing day with one going to WR Doug Baldwin who also had 171 yards, the defense and lack of running game hampered Seattle, affecting their playoff seeding. 2. Seattle lost RB Thomas Rawls in the beginning of the season then lost CJ Prosise but only after letting Christine Michael go. Rawls was back now but is out after leaving the game early with another injury. 3. RB David Johnson is saying why not me for MVP over Ezekiel Elliot of Dallas with another amazing performance. Johnson had 136 all purpose yards and 3 rushing TDS, as QB Carson Palmer had a clean game with 1 TD pass to WR JJ Nelson who had 132 yards. Even WR Larry Fitzgerald had a passing attempt in this high scoring game.

Saints 31-24 over the Buccaneers: 1. QB Drew Brees had a quiet game of 1 TD pass and only under 300 yards but it was his RB that stole the show. RB Mark Ingram had 2 rushing TDS. 2. It was a four field game as QB Jameis Winston had another uneven game with 2 TD passes but two picks. WR Mike Evans had one of those TD passes and RB Jacquizz Rodgers returned from injury with a rushing TD of his own. This loss hurt the chances of Tampa Bay making a wild card spot.

Texans 12-10 over the Bengals: In a low scoring defensive game QB Tom Savage’s first start for Brock Osweiler he didn’t throw a pick which was all the difference, as QB Andy Dalton had one pick. 1. Backup RB Alfred Blue had a rushing TD in place of Lamar Miller and Nick Novak had two field goals. 2. WR Brandon LaFell had 130 yards and a TD, and on defense they forced a fumble. Texans won their division.

Steelers 31-27 over the Ravens: 1. It was the Le’Veon Bell show as the RB had 137 all purpose yards with a rushing and receiving TD as QB Ben Roethlisberger had 3 TD passes with one going to WR Antonio Brown as usual. 2. QB Joe Flacco had an uneven game with one TD and one pick as his RB Kenneth Dixon fumbled the ball away. Stud kicker Justin Tucker was most of the offense for the Ravens again. The Steelers clinched the division with this win.

Chiefs 33-10 over the Broncos: It was all Chiefs in this win eliminating the Broncos from playoff contention. 1. QB Alex Smith had a rushing TD and his lone throwing TD went to TE Travis Kelce who had 160 yards receiving. 2. WR Tyreek Hill led all rushers with 95 yards and he had a rushing TD. NT Dontari Poe had a TD pass thrown to backup TE Demetrius Harris as well. 3. The lone scoring TD came from backup RB Justin Forsett on his 3rd team of the year.

Cowboys 42-21 over the Lions: 1. The Cowboys blew out the Lions as both rookies shined in this contest. QB Dak Prescott had 3 TD passes and RB Ezekiel Elliott had 2 rushing TDS, while WR Dez Bryant caught 2 of the 3 TD passes from Prescott and threw one of his own to TE Jason Witten. 2. On defense Dallas picked off QB Matthew Stafford one time and forced two fumbles. 3. Stafford did though have a rushing TD, while FB Zach Zenner had 2 rushing TDS coming out of nowhere.
