Ravens 28-7 over the Browns: Cleveland had a chance to pull out a win in a short week but the Ravens (their division rival) blew them out after almost losing last time. 1. Joe Flacco had 3 TD’s passes and 290+ yards but he did throw two picks. 2. It should be known that Terrelle Pryor has proven he can make it in the NFL every week as a WR after not making it as QB. 3. The other thing is what Hue Jackson is doing by starting his rookie then pulling him for career backup Josh McCown who threw two picks in relief of Cody Kessler; if you’re rebuilding you go with your youngsters not the old guys.
Texans 24-21 over the Jaguars: 1. This time Brock Osweiler was the better QB as he had no picks and 2 TDS compared to Blake Bortles who had pick six. 2. Bortles threw 2 TD passes to his usual suspects in WR Allen Robinson and TE Julius Thomas, but finally had a good game since he had been in a funk for a few weeks where he couldn’t find the end zone and had a 2 point conversion. 3. Despite missing two field goals they came out on top winning their fifth straight vs. Jacksonville.
Broncos 25-23 over the Saints: How about a walk off blocked extra point taken back for 84 yards for a two point conversion? Well it wasn’t the end of game but it was exciting since it was the first time it ever happened that this type of play was the reason for the winning points. They had an onside kick afterwards that they recovered to hold on. 1. Despite two picks QB Drew Brees had a great game with over 300 yards and 3 TD passes, but WR Michael Thomas after coming off a huge game last week fumbled two times. 2. QB Trevor Siemian had two picks as well but again the defense or special teams came up huge to help them win. Kicker Brandon McManus had their field goals with one being 50 yards.
Rams 9-6 over the Jets: The Rams won for the second time this year without scoring a TD. 1. Rookie Bryce Petty started for injured Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB and did have a TD pass but kicker Nick Folk missed an extra point. 2. This game had 15 punts- 8 by the Jets and 7 by the Rams. 3. All of the offense for the Rams had been field goals by Greg Zuerlein.
Eagles 24-15 over the Falcons: 1. RB Ryan Matthews rode the Eagles to victory on his back with 2 TDS, over 130 all purpose yards and a 2 point conversion. 2. The Eagles defense picked off QB Matt Ryan, kept Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman from the end zone despite over 130 yards from Jones. 3. It was a 6 field goal game. The Eagles have an exciting team on both ends but you never know week in and week out what you’re getting since they lost to the Giants last time.
Chiefs 20-17 over the Panthers: The Chiefs overcame an early 17 point deficit with a forced fumble and a game winning field goal. 1. Eric Berry came back and had an interception TD as the Chiefs didn’t have an offensive TD all game, the rest were 4 field goals by the kicker. 2. QB Cam Netwon scored both TDs with a pass to WR Devin Funchess and ran one in by himself; as he was the leading rusher which isn’t going to help them win if your QB is the leading rusher. But the defense played like it should with a pick and a forced fumble.
Buccaneers 36-10 over the Bears: Well it was a game of what a QB should do and shouldn’t. 1. Jameis Winston had 312 yards and threw 2 TD passes while Jay Cutler for the Bears had two picks, two fumbles and a safety. 2. Overall the Bucs had forced four turnovers and sacked Cutler four times. While former Bear Chris Conte returned one of the picks from Cutler for a TD. 3. Another positive thing for Tampa Bay was that their #1 RB Doug Martian came back from injury since both the 2nd and 3rd stringers are out and were relying on a committee of nobodies.
Redskins 26-20 over the Vikings: Both sides of the ball played well for Washington. 1. QB Kirk Cousins had 2 TD passes and over 260 yards. 2. The defense had one pick, 3 sacks and the kicker Dustin Hopkins hit 4 field goals. 3. QB Sam Bradford had 2 TDs and over 300 yards but this time the defense couldn’t stop the other team, they even gave up a rushing TD from 3rd string RB Matt Asiata.
Titans 47-25 over the Packers: Well the Titans just completely owned the Packers this week. 1. QB Marcus Mariota had just under 300 yards and 4 TDS, as 5 different Titans scored a TD in the 1st half with 35 points in one half. 2. RB DeMarco Murray had over 120 yards, TD and he even threw a TD pass, the 1st non QB in their franchise to score and throw one since Earl Campbell in 1980 for the then Houston Oilers. 3. The defense had 2 picks, a forced fumble and 5 sacks. 4. Despite the turnovers and sacks QB Aaron Rodgers threw 2 TD passes and ran one in while 2 of his receivers each had over 120 yards. 5. TE Delanie Walker had over 120 yards to go with the TD for Tennessee proving he is the #1 option for Mariota to throw whenever he needs it. 6. The issue is Rodgers who threw it 51 times which is too many times for a successful and balanced offense. He even had the only rushing TD which means he has no running game either, this loss isn’t on him it’s on the defense and lack of running game.
Dolphins 31-24 over the Chargers: A pick six sealed the game for the Dolphins as they won their fourth straight. They picked Phillip Rivers off four times all in the 4th quarter. 1. Despite how bad Phillip Rivers was he had over 300 yards and 3 TDs moving him past John Elway for 8th all time on the career list with 301. TE Antonio Gates caught one of those 3 TD passes which was the 82nd time they connected for a TD pass extending the record they have for QB-TE TDs. 2. While Jay Ajayi didn’t have over 100 yards rushing he had one TD, while QB Ryan Tannehill had 2 TD passes, and WR DeVante Parker had over 100 yards.
Cardinals 23-20 over the 49ers: Kicker Chandler Catanzaro hit a game winning field goal to avoid overtime this time. 1. Stud RB David Johnson had over 100 all purpose yards and 2 TDs, one rushing and one receiving while WR Larry Fitzgerald had over 130 yards as well. 2. The best thing for the 49ers were the two picks and forced fumble they had because of QB Carson Palmer, while QB Colin Kaepernick was the team’s leading rusher and scored a rushing TD to go with his one passing.
Cowboys 35-30 over the Steelers: 1. Ezekiel Elliot ran all over the Steelers with 200+ all purpose yards and 3 TDs while QB Dak Prescott had over 310 yards and 2 TDS and WR Dez Bryant had over 110 yards with a TD. 2. There wasn’t any real defense as Ben Roethlisberger had over 400 yards and 3 TDS with one to WR Antonito Brown who had over 110 yards as well. While their RB Le’Veon Bell had over 130 all purpose yards with a rushing TD and receiving TD too. 3. It was a five field goal game too and each fumbled it too as fantasy owners loved this game as both QBS, RBS and WRS went off.
Seahawks 31-24 over the Patriots: 1. It looks like Russell Wilson is healthy now as he had over 340 yards and 3 TD passes all going to Doug Baldwin. 2. It was a quiet 300+ yard game from QB Tom Brady as RB LeGarrette Blunt had 3 TDS, but Brady did have a pick. 3. Seattle also kicked four field goals. Seattle got its revenge for the Super Bowl with the defense stopping Brady and Rob Gronkowski at the goal line and end.
Giants 21-10 over the Bengals: 1. Despite 2 picks and a fumble the Giants offense came out to play as QB Eli Manning had 3 TD passes with one going to WR Odell Beckham JR who had over 90 yards. 2. WR AJ Green either found the end zone or had over 100 yards, as he had a TD and over 60 yards. The major difference was the Giants scored a TD when they had a chance to score while the Bengals kicked field goals, that’s all it really came down it to as it was an equally matched game.
