Patriots 27-0 over the Texans: Well then the Texans looked lost on both ends with 3 turnovers and an inept offense: 1. Not taking anything away from Tom Brady but it looks like any QB can win with this offensive system. 2. No passing touchdowns in this game it was all rushing TDS or field goals by the Patriots as Jacoby Brissett ran for a TD and the other 2 came by RB LeGarrette Blount. 3. Outside of RB Lamar Miller’s 100+ all purpose yards the offense didn’t look as good as they did in the first week because WRS DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller were shutdown. 4. The loss isn’t on the offense or the defense in reality it was really the two special teams fumbles on kick returns that set up the Patriots with good field position to score easier and have control of the ball longer.
Bills 33-18 over the Cardinals: This was one of the most shocking results on Sunday since the Bills have looked dysfunctional and inept on both sides of the ball and the Cardinals are one of the most talented teams on both sides of the ball. 1. Lesean McCoy looks like the running back he was in Philly with 2 TDS and Tyrod Taylor looked competent at QB with his own rushing TD. 2. It was Arizona that looked inept as QB Carson Palmer had 4 interceptions and they fumbled the ball that the Bills turned into a TD. 3. Like in the week 1 loss RB David Johnson is the lone bright spot as he had 2 TDS. 4. Also the kicker for Arizona Chandler Catanzaro missed two field goals and a third sailed over his snapper’s head. 5. It happens-bad teams can beat a good team and can make them look bad because nothing is guaranteed on a week to week basis in the NFL.
Raiders 17-10 over the Titans: 1. The main thing for the Raiders was this: the defense forced three turnovers and had a sack after coming into this game having given up more yards than any team since at least 1940 through the first two games. 2. Again DeMarco Murray showed up proving his down was short lived as he now has 3 TDS in three games. 3. Marcus Mariota had a down game with 2 interceptions which isn’t going to cut it against superior teams and teams with better quarterbacks.
Redskins 29-27 over the Giants: 1. The Giants didn’t look well coached as they had 118 yards in penalties while QB Eli Manning had two interceptions. 2. The Giants didn’t just lose the game they lost RB Shane Vereen to the IR, with Rashad Jennings already hurt they have no running backs. 3. Washington didn’t win this game New York gave it them with them imploding for penalties and Eli throwing the ball away. Look at the offense, they had two rushing TDS and WR Odell Beckham had 121 yards with rookie WR Sterling Shepard getting a TD. 4. Most of the Redskins scores were field goals besides two passing TDS in the middle of the game as the Giants let them get down field and allowed WRS Deshawn Jackson and Jamison Crowder to run all over them.
Dolphins 30-24 over the Browns: Well the Dolphins narrowly beat the 3rd string QB led Browns by winning in overtime. 1. The Browns kicker missed three field goals that came back to haunt them as they lost in overtime. 2. Without Terrelle Pryor and his TD the Browns’ players would have been lost. He was the first player since 1977 to have multiple receptions, rushes and passes in the same game. The former Ohio State quarterback, now primarily a receiver, started taking some snaps in the game’s second series and finished with eight catches for 144 yards – along with 35 passing yards and 25 rushing yards. Pryor even played safety on the last play of the first half. 3. QB Ryan Tannehill looked like the QB he should be on a regular basis with 300+ yards and TDS but with the usual thing he does by blowing it with two interceptions. 4. Without WR Jarvis Landry, Miami would have lost as he went over 100 yards and TD.
Ravens 19-17 over the Jaguars: In a surprisingly close game, the Ravens defense showed up again with a game winning interception, and they even blocked a field goal. 1. Baltimore has one of the game’s best field goal kickers in Justin Tucker as it was all his doing for the scoring outside of a Joe Flacco QB run. 2. More people should talk about WR Allen Robinson as he had 2 TDS, we don’t pay attention to the Jaguars but he is a stud WR. 3. Like Carr and Tannehill, QB Blake Bortles looks good then looks bad making those three all inconsistent, as he had 2 TDS but three interceptions. He’s lucky he has Robinson.
Packers 34-27 over the Lions: For all of the people who were worried about the Packers and QB Aaron they should relax now since the Packers looked like their old self. 1. Aaron Rodgers threw for 205 yards and four touchdowns, including two in the first half to Jordy Nelson. So don’t sweat Green Bay fans. 2. WR Marvin Jones looks like the #1 option for QB Matthew Stafford to throw to since he had 200 yards and 2 TDS. 3. Eddie Lacy showed up with 100 yards.
Broncos 39-17 over the Bengals: The Bengals can’t catch a break three good teams with good defenses to face. This time the Broncos held WR AJ Green and QB Andy Dalton scoreless. 1. Denver’s offense looked equally as good as the defense with QB Trevor Siemian who threw for 4 TDS and WRS Emmanuel Sanders had 100+ yards 2 TDS, and Demaryius Thomas also had 100+ yards plus a TD. 2. The lone bright spot was RB Jeremy Hill who had 2 TDS which is hard to predict since they have two RBS which means a timeshare.
Vikings 22-10 over the Panthers: We shouldn’t have to say it’s a fluke anymore about how the good Minnesota is since they now beat the Packers and Panthers. 1. The defense sacked QB Cam Newton 8 times and picked him off 3 times while sacking him the end zone for a safety. The special teams had a punt return and that was all they needed really as field goal kicker Blair Walsh iced the game with two field goals. 2. QB Sam Bradford had a good enough game this time finding TE Kyle Rudolph for a TD after finding a rapport with WR Stefon Diggs which is good without lead RB Adrian Peterson.
Rams 37-32 over the Buccaneers: After looking crappy in week 1 they came alive in week 3. They had two rushing RBS from Todd Gurley and two passing TDS from Case Keenum that went to WRS Tavon Austin and Brian Quick. 2. The Rams also scored on the defensive side with a fumble recovery TD plus they had an interception. 3. Jameis Winston looked a heck of a lot better this time out with 400+ yards and 3 TDS finding WR Mike Evans for 100+ yards and a TD. He threw to a no name guy in TE Cameron Brate for 2 TDS and 100 yards to WR Adam Humphries which shows he’s not just zeroing in on Evans or WR Vincent Jackson. 4. Without starting RB Doug Martin, backup RB Charles Sims scored a TD as well.
Seahawks 37-18 over the 49ers: Well Seattle got revenge after losing to a divisional rival in the Rams, this time they clobbered San Francisco. 1. QB Russell Wilson who was already hobbled threw for 243 yards and a touchdown before suffering a left knee injury. As kicker Steven Hauschka kicked three field goals to put them up for good. 2. RB Christine Michael showed up for the injured starter Thomas Rawls, with 100+ yards and 2 TDs to shoulder the load for Wilson. 3. San Francisco’s defense did have one forced fumble and interception though but if it wasn’t for RB Carlos Hyde’s 100+ yards and 2 TDS it would have been a lot worse.
Chiefs 24-3 over the Jets: After beating the Bills in week 2 they looked inept, the Jets kept turning the ball over-eight times. 1. The Chief’s defense had two TDS one on a fumble recovery the other on an interception. In total, they picked off QB Ryan Fitzpatrick six times. 2. The Jets were lucky the game wasn’t a bigger blowout since Kansas City only had one offensive TD from TE Travis Kelce and that their defense only gave up 10 total points, it was all the offense’s fault.
Colts 26-22 over the Chargers: QB Andrew Luck did it again putting his team on his back after losing last week with his bad performance as one of the reasons for the loss. He hit WR TY Hilton for a game winning TD. 1. The Colts defense showed up with two fumble recoveries. 2. The running game also showed up as RBS Frank Gore and Robert Turbin each scored TDS.
Eagles 34-3 over the Steelers: The other surprising result was not just that the Eagles won but that they blew out the Steelers. 1. All that we saw was the how dominating Philly’s offense was. QB Carson Wentz had 300+ yards and 3 TDS, RB Darren Sproles had 100+ receiving yards and a TD while 2 RBS scored their first TDS in Kenjon Barner and Wendell Smallwood. 2. The Eagles defense had one interception and fumble while holding WR Antonio Brown and QB Ben Roethlisberger scoreless.
Cowboys 31-17 over the Bears: Well again the Bears looked lost on national TV which begs the question why are they on national TV games on Sunday or Monday night? 1. QB Dak Prescott finally found WR Dez Bryant for a TD and he ran one in for himself. RB Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 100+ yards for the 1st time and had another TD. They added two more rushing TDS as they trampled the Bears defense with Alfred Morris and Lance Dunbar getting those two TDS. 2. The only positive thing for the Bears was that TE Zach Miller had 2 TDS.
Falcons 45-32 over the Saints: 1. It happened again, the Saints put up great offensive numbers but the defense let the opposing offense put up greater numbers. It doesn’t matter if New Orleans has QB Drew Brees, head coach Sean Payton, Mark Ingram and some talented offensive players they are still going to lose if they have to outscore every team if their defense can’t stop anyone. 2. Who knew RB Tevin Coleman was this good? 3 TDS, well it was the Saints. They have a dual RB threat with him and Devonta Freeman as the leading rusher and receiving with 200+ all purpose yards. 3. QB Matt Ryan might be back to where he was a few years ago when they would make the playoffs consecutive seasons, but they beat the Raiders and Saints only so let’s wait till they beat a good team. 4. Where is Julio Jones? Is he hurt? I have no idea but it looks like so far they can score enough without him.
