Broncos 37-28 over the Jets: Despite Denver being on their 3rd string QB who threw three interceptions (one being returned for a TD) the Jets couldn’t win and they even opened the scoring with QB Sam Darnold having a rushing TD. RB Melvin Gordon had 107 yards rushing with two rushing TDs for Denver. If it weren’t for the Jets kicker Sam Ficken hitting five field goals for New York it would have been a lot uglier.
Ravens 31-17 over Washington: It was all QB Lamar Jackson, who threw 2 TD passes (both to TE Mark Andrews) and added a rushing TD, plus RB Mark Ingram had a rushing TD. Robert Griffn III even came into the game. Washington had a missed field goal and a fumble which doesn’t help when you’re facing one of the best teams in all of football.
Buccaneers 38-31 over the Chargers: QB Tom Brady threw 5 TD passes with one interception that was returned for a TD despite missing one of his WRs and RBs. Rookie QB Justin Herbert did his best with 3 TD passes but he threw a crucial interception, and his team missed a field goal late in addition to fumbling the ball away earlier.
Seahawks 31-23 over the Dolphins: The Seahawks were up 17-9 entering half time and didn’t let up as QB Russell Wilson added his 2nd TD pass and RB Chris Carson added his 2nd rushing TD in the 2nd half. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had 0 TD passes with two interceptions for Miami but he had the lone TD for them with a rushing TD.
Vikings 31-23 over the Texans: RB Dalvin Cook had 130 yards rushing with two rushing TDs to help give them a 17-6 lead, his backup added a rushing TD, and Kirk Cousins had no turnovers with one passing TD which went to WR Adam Thielen. QB Deshaun Watson did throw 2 TD passes late for Houston but he had two of his team’s three fumbles and it was also too late by then.
Saints 35-29 over the Lions: QB Drew Brees threw two TD passes, RB Alvin Kamara had a rushing TD, and his backup RB Latavius Murray had two rushing TDs. While QB Matthew Stafford had three passing TDs and RB Adrian Peterson added a rushing TD for Detroit.
Browns 49-38 over the Cowboys: Dallas put up two TDs in the 1st quarter but went silent until the 4th quarter, and along the way they had two fumbles. It wasn’t until the 4th quarter when they woke up with three TDs to give QB Dak Prescott four passing TDs but it was too late by then, plus he threw a costly interception towards the end. Cleveland had everything go right for them as QB Baker Mayfield had no turnovers with two passing TDs, WR Odell Beckham Jr. had two receiving TDs with a rushing TD, RB Kareem Hunt had two rushing TDs, and WR Jarvis Landry threw to Beckham for one of his TDs.
Bengals 33-25 over the Jaguars: It was all RB Joe Mixon who rushed for 151 yards with two rushing TDs and caught one TD pass. QB Gardner Minshew wasn’t bad for Jacksonville with two TD passes of his own but had one interception and his team missed a field goal.
Panthers 31-21 over the Cardinals: The Panthers went up 21-7 entering half time and it was a wrap as QB Teddy Bridgewater had two passing TDs with a rushing TD, and RB Mike Davis added a rushing TD. QB Kyler Murray did his best with 3 TD passes but it was too much of a deficit to comeback from.
Rams 17-9 over the Giants: The Giants again looked inept on offense as all of their scoring came from their field goal kicker. QB Daniel Jones had an interception and a fumble. The Rams only scored two TDs the whole game and had two fumbles of their own.
Bills 30-23 over the Raiders: QB Josh Allen again had a good game with no turnovers, a rushing TD and two passing TDs, plus his RB added a rushing TD. QB Derek Carr did his best with two passing TDs but he had one of his team’s two fumbles on the day.
Colts 19-11 over the Bears: The Bears had seven punts until they scored a late 4th quarter TD from QB Nick Foles to WR Allen Robinson, but he threw an interception in the 4th quarter as well. They are the only team to not score in the 3rd quarter all season. QB Phillip Rivers threw one TD pass with no turnovers and rookie kicker Rodrigo Blankenship hit four field goals.
Eagles 25-20 over the 49ers: QB Carson Wentz threw a late 4th TD and the defense picked off a pass (the QB’s second interception) and returned for a TD to hold on late over the 49rs. Wentz also had a rushing TD and converted a two-point conversion. San Francisco had two rushing TDs with one coming from rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk.
Chiefs 26-10 over the Patriots: QB Patrick Mahomes had two TD passes while the New England QBS had one fumble and three interceptions (one returned for a TD) combined with QB Cam Newton out with Covid19.
Packers 30-16 over the Falcons: QB Aaron Rodgers threw four TD passes three going to unknown TE Robert Tonyan. For Atlanta, if RB Todd Gurley did not get in the end zone twice for his pair of rushing TDs it would have been even worse.
Bye Week: Titans & Steelers.
