Bears 23-16 over the Lions: QB Chase Daniels outplayed QB Matthew Stafford in place of the injured QB Mitchell Trubisky. Daniels had 2 TDs passes and no turnovers. Stafford had two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown to seal the game as S Eddie Jackson struck again with another defensive touchdown. The surprise of the game was how the Lions scored as RB LeGarrette Blount had 2 rushing TDs despite being the 3rd string RB. It was the Bears first win in Detroit since 2012.
Cowboys 31-23 over Washington: RB Ezekiel Elliot and QB Dak Prescott ran all over another opponent as both had rushing TDs. Elliot had 121 yards rushing while Prescott also threw 2 TD passes that both went to WR Amari Cooper who had 180 yards receiving (most for a Dallas player since 2012). QB Colt McCoy starting in place of the injured QB Alex Smith who kept his team in the game with 2 TD passes of his own but cost them with two interceptions and a fumble. Plus his RB Kapri Bibbs fumbled the ball away which cancelled out his rushing TD and their kicker missed an extra point. When the Cowboys are led by a rushing attack you cannot turn the ball over that much since they will run out the clock as Dallas led time of possession.
Saints 31-17 over the Falcons: It was all Saints as they lead 17-3 entering half time which was too much of a deficit for QB Matt Ryan to overcome plus he had an interception and three fumbles. That also doesn’t count the fumbles the rest of the team had as they turned the ball over five times. While for the Saints QB Drew Brees did have an interception as well but he had 4 TD passes.
Ravens 34-17 over the Raiders: It was a team effort without QB Joe Flacco again as rookie QB Lamar Jackson used his legs again to defeat a team. He had one rushing TD and one passing TD but had a fumble and two interceptions. The Ravens also had a punt return TD by CB Cyrus Jones and LB Terrell Suggs picked up the loose ball for a return TD.
Bills 24-21 over the Jaguars: In QB Josh Allen’s return from injury he had a TD pass and a rushing TD. Plus RB Isaiah Thomas added a rushing TD. QB Blake Bortles was his usual self having a TD pass but had two interceptions. RB Leonard Fournette again did all he could to will his team from behind by having 2 rushing TDs, but it wasn’t enough as the game came down to that field goal his team missed.
Seahawks 30-27 over the Panthers: Despite an absurd game of 125 rushing yards with a rushing TD and 112 yards receiving with a receiving TD by RB Christian McCaffery, it wasn’t enough as QB Russell Wilson led his team from behind to win it. Wilson had 2 passing TDs and RB Chris Carson added a rushing TD. QB Cam Newton did have 2 TD passes as well but had an interception and their kicker missed the potential game winning field goal. Sebastian Janikowski hit the game winning field goal for Seattle.
Browns 35-20 over the Bengals: It was all about QB Baker Mayfield and his team showing up their former head coach Hue Jackson who now works for Cincinnati. Mayfield had 4 TD passes and RB Nick Chubb had a rushing TD plus he caught one of those 4 TD passes. QB Andy Dalton had one TD pass but had an interception and left the game injured. QB Jeff Driskel did all he could with a passing TD and a rushing TD but it was a tough task being down 35-7.
Patriots 27-13 over the Jets: The team with the better QB came out on top. QB Josh McCown did have a TD but threw an interception compared to QB Tom Brady having 2 TD passes with no turnovers. Plus RB Sony Michel added a rushing TD. Brady now has the most passing yards in history including playoffs passing QB Peyton Manning.
Eagles 25-22 over the Giants: Both QBs Eli Manning and Carson Wentz had a passing TD but Manning had an interception. RB Shaquon Barkley was the star of the game with 101 yards rushing with a rushing TD and he caught that TD pass by Manning. Jake Elliot kicked the game winning field goal for Philadelphia.
Buccaneers 27-9 over the 49ers: Surprisingly QB Jameis Winston had no turnovers with 2 TD passes and his RB Peyton Barber had added a rushing TD. WR Mike Evans had 113 yards receiving which means he had 1000 yards receiving in each of 1st five seasons. While QB Nick Mullens had a fumble and two interceptions with his lone TD pass.
Chargers 45-10 over the Cardinals: It was all Chargers in this one as QB Phillip Rivers had 3 TD passes and RB Melvin Gordon had 2 TDs rushing, plus RB Austin Ekeler had a rushing TD. Even if the Chargers didn’t have a great day they were given the game as QB Josh Rosen had a fumble and an interception which cancelled out his TD pass to WR Larry Fitzgerald. Plus their kicker missed a field goal. Rivers completed his first 25 passes tying an NFL record.
Colts 27-24 over the Dolphins: Despite a fumble and two interceptions from QB Andrew Luck he had 3 TD passes with all 3 of them going to his TEs, as Eric Ebron had 2 and Jack Doyle had the other. Kicker Adam Vinatieri kicked the game winning field goal to make up for missing one earlier in the game. A positive sign for Dolphins fans was QB Ryan Tannehill who was back with 2 TD passes and no turnovers unlike backup QB Brock Osweiler. QB Jacoby Brissett threw a pass to Luck.
Broncos 24-17 over the Steelers: It wasn’t the Steelers day as QB Ben Roethlisberger had 2 interceptions and WR Ryan Swtizer had 2 fumbles. Kicker Chris Boswell had as many TD passes as Big Ben did (1) as he threw a TD pass to OT Alejandro Villanueva on a fake field goal attempt. QB Case Keenum outplayed Big Ben as he had 2 TD passes with no turnovers and RB Phillip Lindsay had a rushing TD with 110 yard rushing.
Vikings 24-17 over the Packers: It came down to QB play as Kirk Cousins outplayed Aaron Rodgers. Cousins threw 3 TD passes for 342 yards while Rodgers had 1 TD pass and 198 yards. For Green Bay RB Aaron Jones did all he could to keep them in the game again as he had another rushing TD his fourth in three games. WR Adam Thielen had his 9th game with 100 yards receiving this season.
Texans 34-17 over the Titans: Both starting QBS had good games with 2 TD passes each for DeShaun Watson and Marcus Mariota, but Watson added a rushing TD. The difference was Watson’s rushing TD but also RB Lamar Miller going off for 126 yards rushing with a rushing TD. WR Demaryius Thomas caught both of Watson’s TD passes. This was Houston’s 8th straight win.
