NFL Recap Week 9 2018:

49ers 34-3 over the Raiders: In place of injured backup QB CJ Beatheard, QB Nick Mullens who was undrafted shredded the Oakland defense for 3 TDS with one going to TE George Kittle who had 108 yards receiving. RB Raheem Mostert added a rushing TD for San Francisco. QB Derek Carr was outplayed by an undrafted player as he finished with 0 TDs and a fumble while we saw AJ McCarron come in for him late.

Steelers 23-16 over the Ravens: QB Ben Roethlisberger outplayed QB Joe Flacco in this rivalry game as he had 2 passing TDS and one rushing TD compared to 0 TD passes for Flacco. RB James Conner had 107 yards rushing plus he caught one of those Big Ben TD passes and of course WR Antonio Brown caught the other one in his 6th straight game with a TD. Outside of RB Alex Collins’ rushing TD it was a kicking game for Baltimore.

Bears 41-9 over the Bills: It was a typical game for the Bears as their defense and running game were the reasons they won. Chicago’s defense had a fumble recovery TD and an interception return TD, one of three picks they had. RB Jordan Howard had 2 rushing TDs. Despite QB Mitchell Trubisky having a fumble and interception he had 1 passing TD, but it didn’t matter as the defense harassed QB Nathan Peterman all day with four sacks.

Panthers 42-28 over the Buccaneers: Despite QB Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing 4 TD passes compared to the 2 by QB Cam Newton he had two interceptions and a fumble while Newton had no turnovers. Also, Carolina had a rushing game as RB Christian McCaffery had 2 rushing TDS. Curtis Samuel had a rushing TD plus a receiving TD, and FB Alex Armah had a rushing TD as well. While TE OJ Howard caught 2 a piece and WR Adam Humphries did as well for Tampa Bay.

Chiefs 37-21 over the Browns: QB Patrick Mahomes had 375 yards passing with 3 TDs and an interception and RB Kareem Hunt had 2 rushing TDs and caught one of those TD passes while TE Travis Kelce caught the other 2. Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield had 2 passing TDs with an interception while the TDS both went to RB Duke Johnson and RB Nick Chubb who had a rushing TD. Kansas City blocked a punt which set up one of the TDs and QB Tyrod Taylor even came in for Cleveland.

Dolphins 16-3 over the Jets: QB Sam Darnold threw four interceptions, 0 touchdowns and sacked four times and New York missed a field goal. QB Brock Osweiler wasn’t any better with 0 TDs and less yards but that interception TD killed the Jets. It was the 6th win in franchise history for Miami with 0 offensive TDs.

Vikings 24-9 over the Lions: The Vikings defense came to play as they had 10 sacks a franchise record and they returned a fumble for a TD. QB Matthew Stafford didn’t have a great game but neither did QB Kirk Cousins as Cousins had an interception and a fumble but did have one TD pass. RB Latavius Murray had a rushing TD as well.

Falcons 38-14 over Washington: QB Matt Ryan had 4 TD passes with an interception while two of those TDs went to RB Tevin Coleman and the others went to WR Calvin Ridley, Finally WR Julio Jones had a TD his first since November 2017. RB Ito Smith had a rushing TD his 4th TD in five games. While the other QB Alex Smith wasn’t as good with only 1 TD pass plus an interception, and RB Kapri Bibbs had a rushing TD.

Texans 19-17 over the Broncos: QB Case Keenum did have a TD pass and his RB Devontae Booker had a rushing TD but it was all about Houston as they won their 6th straight game. QB DeShaun Watson had 2 passing TDs with one obviously going to WR DeAndre Hopkins who had 105 yards receiving. What cost Denver the game was their kicker Brandon McManus missed two field goals including the game winning field goal attempt. Texans kicker Kai’imi Fairbairn missed an extra point but he made all of his field goals like the go ahead one.

Chargers 25-17 over the Seahawks: Seattle could only muster 2 TD passes from QB Russell Wilson as he fumbled and threw an interception that was returned for a TD plus they missed a field goal. While QB Phillip Rivers also had 2 TD passes with no turnovers while RB Melvin Gordon was the key since he had a rushing TD with 113 yards rushing. It wasn’t a great kicking game in general as the Chargers kicker missed his only field goal attempt and two extra points.

Saints 45-35 over the Rams: The Rams are no longer undefeated as QB Drew Brees had 4 TD passes with 346 yards passing, and RB Alvin Kamara had 2 rushing TDs and caught one of those 4 TD passes. WR Michal Thomas also caught one of those TD passes and had 211 receiving yards a franchise record for New Orleans. QB Jared Goff wasn’t bad he just wasn’t as good with only 3 TD passes with 391 yards passing, but had an interception. RB Todd Gurley had a rushing TD and Cooper Kupp returning from injury caught one of those TD passes, and Brandin Cooks had 114 yards receiving while catching one of those TD passes.

Patriots 31-17 over Packers: QB Aaron Rodgers had 2 TD passes that kept his team in the game tied at 17 till the fourth quarter but had a fumble. QB Tom Brady didn’t have a great game with only 1 TD pass to WR Josh Gordon who had 113 yards receiving. WR Cordarrelle Patterson had a rushing TD and RB James White had 2 rushing TDs a career high.

Titans 28-14 over the Cowboys: Things looked good for the Cowboys when new WR Amari Cooper caught a TD pass but then they got outscored 28-7 the rest of the game. QB Marcus Mariota had his best game of the season with 2 passing TDs and a rushing TD. RB Derrick Henry had a rushing TD as well.
