NFL Divisional Round Recap 2017-2018:

Eagles 15-10 over the Falcons: On the leg of Jake Elliot’s four field goals (despite missing an extra point) and the running game the controlling the time of possession, the Eagles still came out on top despite three fumbles(two from QB Nick Foles). RB LeGarrette Blount had their lone TD, and RB Devonta Freeman had the Falcons only TD.

Patriots 35-14 over the Titans: After being down 7-0 entering the 2nd quarter New England went on a 35-7 run to blow out Tennessee. The Patriots even missed a field goal so they could have had 38 points in this blow out. QB Tom Brady had 3 TD passes with one of them going to TE Rob Gronkowski, WR Chris Hogan and RB James White who also had a rushing TD. RB Brandon Bolden had the 2nd rushing TD for New England. For the Titans, WR Corey Davis caught the first and last TD of the game.

Jaguars 45-42 over the Steelers: You can just throw the defense out in this shootout. Jacksonville took an early lead on three rushing TDS, two by rookie Leonard Fournette who finished with three of his own rushing TDs. That didn’t stop QB Ben Roethlisberger who answered with 3 passing TDs of his own before the 4th quarter. Remember the defense not being a factor, Big Ben had an interception and a fumble that was returned for a TD. It was 28-21 in favor of the Jaguars entering the 4th quarter before Fournette added that 3rd rushing TD. It was followed up by WR Antonio Brown catching his 2nd TD of the day, and RB Le’Veon rushing for a TD to add to his receiving TD. But when QB Blake Bortles doesn’t throw an interception (he did have a fumble) they usual win. He actually threw a TD pass to silence those TDs. With Jacksonville adding a field goal after that it was too much to overcome for Big Ben who threw a late 4th quarter TD to WR Juju Smith-Schuster his 5th TD pass of the game as it ended, and the Jaguars upset the Steelers.

Vikings 29-24 over the Saints: It looked like after being down 17-0 entering the 2nd half the Saints weren’t going to win. Then the Saints then went on a 24-6 run over to take the lead on a go ahead field goal with less than a minute left. QB Drew Brees threw 3 TD passes in that span after having two interceptions and one fumble in the game. Then the Vikings needed to get in field goal range and at the last second WR Stefon Diggs caught the ball for the needed yardage for a field goal. But New Orleans’ defenders didn’t tackle him or failed at tackling and let him run for a walk off game winning TD to take Minnesota to the championship game.
