NFL Recap Week 9 2017:

Jets 34-21 over the Bills: QB Tyrod Taylor did his best to keep his team in the game since he had 2 passing TDS, with 285 passing yards and a rushing TD but his line didn’t protect him as he was sacked seven times. With his legs he tried keeping some plays alive but fumbled it twice trying to escape pressure and his players also fumbled it twice. With all that good field position off turnovers the Jets controlled the clock as RB Matt Forte had 2 rushing TDS and QB Josh McCown had a rushing with a passing TD. Rookie WR Zay Jones caught his first career TD.

Cowboys 28-17 over the Chiefs: The Cowboys upset the Chiefs and picked off QB Alex Smith for the 1st time and held the running game that has been so good to only 37 yards to RB Kareem Hunt. Smith still did have 2 TD passes to WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce though. But it was QB Dak Prescott who out played him with 2 passing TDS (both going to WR Cole Beasley) with no interceptions and a rushing TD. RB Ezekiel Elliot, who we all thought was going to miss the game to due to suspension was able to play and had just under 100 yards rushing with a TD.

Redskins 17-14 over the Seahawks: It was all about what the Seahawks did to lose the game. QB Russell Wilson did have 2 TD passes (1 going to WR Doug Baldwin who had over 100 yards receiving) but he fumbled it once, was the leading rusher which isn’t good, threw two interceptions and failed on both two-point conversions. The kicker Blair Walsh missed all three field goals. They did start the game off right with a sack in the end zone for a safety but they made too many mistakes. RB Robert Kelly who had missed lots of time this year due to injury had both TDs for Washington, with the 2nd one being the game winner. It wasn’t really QB Kirk Cousins day as he had no TD passes and two fumbles.

Cardinals 20-10 over the 49ers: In relief of injured QB Carson Palmer, QB Drew Stanton had 2 TD passes with one interception and had RB Adrian Peterson chew up clock with 159 yards rushing. QB CJ Beathard had an interception but he had the team’s only TD as he ran one in one for a TD.

Titans 23-20 over the Ravens: Both QBS had 2 TD passes but Joe Flacco (who was concussed in the last game) had a fumble and two interceptions (both by FS Kevin Byard) and Marcus Mariota had one interception. WR Eric Decker had his 1st TD of the season. The difference in the game was that Baltimore had no run game while Tennessee had a rushing TD from RB Derrick Henry.

Eagles 51-23 over the Broncos: The Eagles destroyed the Broncos as QB Carson Wentz threw 4 TD passes, 2 going to WR Alshon Jeffery, one to the backup TE Trey Burton filling in for the injured Zach Ertz, and to RB Corey Clement who also had 2 rushing TDs. Even newly acquired RB Jay Ajayi got into the scoring game for his first TD of the season (not just first Eagles TD). QB Brock Osweiler had a fumble and threw two interceptions like the incumbent had been doing, but he did have a 4th quarter TD pass to WR Demaryius Thomas his first TD of the season. LB Brandon Marshall (Not the WR) picked up and returned a fumble forced by LB Von Miller for a TD. That fumble came at the hands of QB Nick Foles who was in the game because of a blow out, and it was his first time playing for the Eagles since he last was the starting QB a few years ago.

Rams 51-17 over the Giants: The Rams blew out the Giants as QB Jared Goff had 311 yards passing and 4 TD passes. Two of them went to WR Robert Woods and one of the other two going to WR Sammy Watkins who only had one catch but it was a 67 yard TD pass. RB Toddy Gurley had two rushing TD’s to add to the offensive fire power they showed. QB Eli Manning did have 2 TD passes but it was cancelled out by a fumble (one of two for the team) and an interception. It was so bad and they were down by so much, QB Geno Smith made an appearance.

Saints 30-10 over the Buccaneers: Despite four fumbles and getting a field goal blocked the Saints had a good game with QB Drew Brees throwing 2 TD passes, one going to WR Ted Ginn Jr and other to RB Alvin Kamara. Kamara had a rushing TD as well and the Saints defense forced a fumble, blocked a punt for a TD, and sacked the QBs four times as QB Jameis Winston was benched due to an injury. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick did throw a 4th quarter TD pass. Winston instigated a fight and WR Mike Evans also fought with the Saints CB Marshon Lattimore.

Jaguars 23-7 over the Bengals: Despite RB Leonard Fournette missing the game due to a team suspension they kept to their game plan of defense and running the ball as much as possible. The Jaguars kicked three field goals, had a punt returned for a TD, and Blake Bortles had no interceptions and a 1 TD pass to WR Marqise Lee, his first TD of the year. RB Joe Mixon was the only offense for the Bengals with his rushing TD. WR AJ Green got ejected for throwing punches in a fight with CB Jalen Ramsey, who was also ejected.

Colts 20-14 over the Texans: It was WR Ty Hilton’s day (best game of season) with 2 TDs and 175 yards receiving, both thrown by QB Jacoby Brisset who had 308 yards. LB Lamar Houston returned a fumble for a TD. Despite two fumbles, QB Tom Savage threw his first career TD pass to WR DeAndre Hopkins. The difference was the Texans kicker missing his field goal, but Adam Vinatieri made both of his.

Panthers 20-17 over the Falcons: After being down 10-0 the Panthers went on a 20-0 run to despite a 4th quarter comeback attempt with a TD from RB Tevin Coleman, one of two TD passes from Matt Ryan who did throw an interception. Carolina won despite two fumbles from RB Jonathan Stewart. QB Cam Newton did not have any TD passes and again leading his team in rushing yards. That did pay off this time as he had a rushing TD and so did RB Christian McCaffery.

Raiders 27-24 over the Dolphins: Despite a return from injury, QB Jay Cutler had 311 yards passing with 3 TD passes with no interceptions. They were down all night and couldn’t catch up in the end. QB Derek Carr did have 300 yards with 1 TD pass but also had an interception and two fumbles. The difference was RB Marshawn Lynch who missed the last game due to a suspension who had 2 rushing TDs.

Lions 30-17 over the Packers: The Lions offense took the lead early and didn’t let their food of the gas pedal. QB Matthew Stafford had 2 TD passes both to WR Marvin Jones JR and RB Ameer Abdullah also had a TD. For Green Bay it was a tough go on offense as QB Brett Hundley had no TD passes. He did however get a rushing a TD and so did a backup RB name Jamaal Williams.
