Falcons 36-20 over the Seahawks: 1. QB Matt Ryan cruised to a 3 TD game and both RBS had a TD rushing for Devonta Freeman and receiving for Tevin Coleman. The Falcons defense came to play with two picks and three sacks leading to a safety. 2. QB Russell Wilson did have 2 TD passes but was picked off two times and was the team’s leading rusher which isn’t enough to beat a team with a huge lead at half time. Atlanta will host Green Bay next.
Packers 34-31 over the Cowboys: The Packers held on to win after game tying and game winning field goals by Mason Crosby. 1. Green Bay held RB Ezekiel Elliot scoreless and picked off QB Dak Prescott three times. Despite Prescott’s 30 TD pass game, it wasn’t enough as two of them were in the fourth quarter as they had to settle for two field goals before the game tying one. 2. QB Aaron Rodgers didn’t have the best game with 2 TDs and one pick, but his rushing game picked him up as WR/RB TY Montgomery had 2 rushing TDS. This game was won without their #1 WR Jordy Nelson. Green Bay will go to Atlanta Next.
Patriots 34-16 over the Texans: 1. QB Tom Brady had an uneven game with 2 TDs and two picks, but his defense picked him up as they picked off QB Brock Osweiler and held both the rushing game to no scores and WR DeAndre Hopkins to 65 yards as well. 2. RB Dion Lewis had both a rushing TD and receiving TD. New England will host Pittsburgh next.
Steelers 18-16 over the Chiefs: 1. Despite Kansas City’s defense keeping out the 3 killer B’s out of the end zone (Big Ben, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell) the Steelers’ kicker Chris Boswell accounted for all the scoring with six field goals. 2. The only score was the Chief’s RB Spencer Ware with a TD in the fourth quarter but it was already too late. Pittsburgh will head to New England next.
