Bengals 27-10 over the Ravens: Third string RB Rex Burkhead stole the show for the Bengals. 1. Burkhead had 114 all purpose yards and a rushing TD, while Ravens backup RB Kenneth Dixon had the lone TD for Baltimore. 2. It was a four field goal. 3. Cincinnati picked off both QBS as Joe Flacco was pulled in a game where they were down 20-3 and Ryan Mallet relieved him but threw a pick like Flacco.
Titans 24-17 over the Texans: 1. In Matt Cassel’s first start of the year he had a TD pass with a pick but his defense and RB were the reasons they won. 2. The Titans opened the game up with a fumble recovery taken back for a TD and rookie RB Derrick Henry had a rushing TD. 3. Despite the loss Brock Osweiler had a good game with 1 TD pass, no picks and a rushing TD. Houston will play in the wild card game Saturday hosting the Oakland Raiders.
Buccaneers 17-16 over the Panthers: It was a field goal defensive game as both QBS had 1 TD pass but both threw four picks combined, 1 for Jameis Winston and 3 for Cam Newton. 1. RB Jonathan Stewart has a rushing TD while WR Kelvin Benjamin caught Newton’s TD pass and WR Mike Evans caught Winston’s TD pass. 2. Tampa Bay returned one of the 3 picks for a TD.
Steelers 27-24 over the Browns: In a game where QB Ben Roethlisberger, WR Antonio Brown, and RB Le’Veon Bell didn’t play in, they still came out on top in OT. 1. RB DeAngelo Williams had 94 all purpose yards, a rushing TD and a receiving TD. In Big Ben’s place Landry Jones had 3 TD passes including the game winner in OT. 2. Browns QB Robert Griffin 3rd had 2 TD passes.
Eagles 27-13 over the Cowboys: With the Cowboys sitting out/only playing a little, their starting QB Dak Prescott, RB Ezekiel Elliot, and WR Dez Bryant rested up and let the Eagles win a meaningless game. 1. QB Caron Wentz had 2 TD passes both to TE Zach Ertz, who had 139 receiving yards as well. 2. It was a four field goal game. 3. QB Tony Romo played in his first game all year throwing 1 TD pass, while Mark Sanchez had two picks.
Jets 30-10 over the Bills: With Head Coach and defensive coordinator Rex and Rob Ryan fired before the final game, the Bills were lost starting their 2nd and 3rd string QBS. 1. Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had a clean game with 2 TD passes, and backup RB Bilal Powell had 137 all purpose yards and caught one of Fitzpatrick’s TD passes. 2. Bills backup RB Mike Gillislee had the lone TD for them. 3. The Jets defense/special teams had a pick and two forced fumbles with one in the end zone on a kickoff for a TD.
Vikings 38-10 over the Bears: 1. QB Sam Bradford had 3 TDs but one pick with one of those going to TE Kyle Rudolph who had 117 yards. RB Jerick McKinnon had both a receiving TD and rushing TD. 2. RB Jordan Howard now has the title for most rookie rushing yards in Bears history for a RB and had 135 in the finale. 3. WR Cameron Meredith a former QB in college threw a TD to QB Matt Barkley on a trick play as Barkley had two picks. 4. Minnesota also had a fumble recovered for a TD.
Colts 24-20 over the Jaguars: Despite the win the Colts finished .500 and in 3rd place failing to make the playoffs. 1. QB Andrew Luck had 2 TD passes with those going to both of his TE’S. Backup RB Robert Turbin had a rushing TD. 2. QB Blake Bortles didn’t have a pick but he did have two fumbles. 4th string RB Corey Grant had a rushing TD.
Patriots 35-24 over the Dolphins: 1. QB Tom Brady had 3 TDs and since they were up for the whole game his backup even came in for him. Those 3 TD passes went to new WR Michael Floyd, WR Julian Edelman and TE Martellus Bennett. 2. Matt Moore had 2 TD passes with one pick. Both teams will be in the playoffs as New England has a bye week, and Miami will play in Pittsburgh in the wild card round.
Chiefs 37-27over the Chargers: 1. QB Alex Smith had 2 TD passes and a rushing TD. Both of those TD passes were to RB Spencer Ware. 2. QB Phillip Rivers had another uneven game again throwing 2 picks and 2 TD passes both of them going to his TES, as Antonio Gates now has 111 receiving TD’s for his career tying Tony Gonzalez for all time among TES. 3. It was a five field goal game while WR Tyreek Hill had a punt return TD, while San Diego had Smith’s lone pick returned for a TD. Kansas City is on a bye this week. San Diego fired their head coach Mike McCoy.
Cardinals 44-6 over the Rams: Despite this game and the season the Rams didn’t finish in last, it was the dysfunctional 49ers. 1. The Rams used two QBS and had their punter and WR attempt passes. 2. RB David Johnson left the game with an injury and his backup Kerwynn Williams had a rushing TD. QB Carson Palmer threw 3 TD passes with one of them going to WR Larry Fitzgerald who finishes the season leading the league in receptions. With the blowout backup QB Drew Stanton came into the game. 3. Arizona had a pick returned for a TD off backup QB Sean Mannion. 4. It was a five field goal game as the Rams only offense was two of those.
Broncos 24-6 over the Raiders: The defending champions just missed the playoffs to the Dolphins who won 10 games to their 9 wins and their head coach retired due to health reasons, having had a few stroke/heart related episodes during his whole coaching career. 1. QB Trevor Siemian had 2 TD passes and RB Devontae Booker woke up from his slump with both a rushing and receiving TD and a 109 all purpose yard game. 2. Backup QB Matt McGolin left the game with an injury and his backup Connor Cook had a TD pass to WR Amari Cooper and a pick as well, and a failed two point conversion. 3. Denver had 3 forced fumbles as well. 4. With a wild card matchup up next the Raiders have questions on who their QB will be with Carr out for the year with the game against Houston.
Giants 19-10 over the Redskins: 1. QB Eli Manning didn’t have a pick but he had no TD passes, as his RB Rashad Jennings had a rushing TD and the defense had two picks and a fumble returned for a TD. 2. TE Jordan Reed had the only TD for Washington but had the fumble that led to the Giants TD, and with this loss it eliminated them from the playoffs. The Giants will head to Green Bay for their wild card matchup.
Seahawks 25-23 over the 49ers: 1. QB Russell Wilson had a TD pass and RB Thomas Rawls had a rushing TD. 2. RB Shaun Draughn led the team in rushing and receiving yards while having 2 rushing TDs. 3. SF forced a fumble in the end zone for a safety and Seattle kicked four field goals. SF fired their general manager after two failed hires at coach and a disaster on how it ended with Jim Harbuagh and head coach Chip Kelly fired as well. Seattle will host the Lions in the wild card round.
Falcons 38-32 over the Saints: 1. QB Matt Ryan had 4 TD passes while RB Devonta Freeman had a rushing a TD. 2. QB Drew Brees had 2 TD passes with one going to WR Michael Thomas, who had 156 yards and set a new rookie franchise record in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. Both RBS Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower had rushing TDS. The Falcons will have a bye this week for the playoffs.
Packers 31-24 over the Lions: With the division on the line the Packers got home field advantage and the Lions will go on the road to play the Seahawks. 1. QB Aaron Rodgers had 300 yards and 4 TD passes with two of them going to WR Davante Adams. 2. QB Matthew Stafford had 347 yards and 2 TD passes with a pick, while 3rd string RB Zach Zenner had another rushing TD.
