Seahawks 24-3 over the Rams: Days after Jeff Fisher was fired the Rams couldn’t have been facing a much worse opponent the divisional rival Seattle. 1. QB Russell Wilson had 3 TD passes with one of those going to WR Tyler Lockett who had 130 yards receiving as well. 2. Seattle’s defense had a forced fumble and four sacks that had the Rams benching the rookie Jared Goff for Case Keenum. The Seahawks won the division.
Dolphins 34-13 over the Jets: On Saturday Night Football a crazy day to play football, the Jets let backup QB Matt Moore throw 4 TD passes. 1. Miami’s defense had three picks and a forced fumble and knocked out rookie QB Bryce Petty and still intercepted his replacement Ryan Fitzpatrick. 2. The bright spot for the Jets is they had an interception and stopped RB Jay Ajayi from scoring on the defensive end.
Titans 19-17 over the Chiefs: It was a defensive, rushing, and field goal game by both teams as both QBS didn’t throw a TD pass and had a pick but Alex Smith did have a rushing TD. 1. Tennessee had the game winning 53 yard field goal and 2 rushing TDS by rookie Derrick Henry. 2. WR Tyreek Hill did it again but only with a rushing TD. The Titans went for two to try to take the lead but failed and were lucky KC didn’t score when they had the ball leading to the game winning field goal.
Steelers 24-20 over the Bengals: A rivalry game with 8 field goals, with 6 coming from the Steelers kicker Chris Boswell was the difference, since RB Le’Veon Bell didn’t score nor did WR Antonio Brown. 1. QB Andy Dalton and RB Jeremy Hill had rushing TDS, but the Steelers with more field goals and a scoring TD in the 4th quarter was the difference. This loss eliminated the Bengals from playoff contention.
Giants 17-6 over the Lions: 1. The Giants defense was the key as they held QB Matthew Stafford scoreless and picked him off once and forced a fumble as well. Detroit only had two field goals on offense. 2. QB Eli Manning was pick free with 2 TD passes to WRs Odell Beckham JR and rookie Sterling Sheppard.
Colts 34-6 over the Vikings: 1. Andrew Luck had a pick free game with 2 TD passes while backup RB Robert Turbin showed up with 2 rushing TDs, and RB Frank Gore ran all over the Vikings with over 100 yards. While kicker Adam Vinatieri was his usual self with two field goals with one being for 50 yards. 2. The Vikings offense has been officially lost for two weeks as they only kicked two field goals and QB Sam Bradford had a pick. Even in Adrian Peterson’s return they couldn’t get anything going rushing wise.
Texans 21-20 over the Jaguars: It was a messy game with 6 field goals with 4 by the Texans and benching their starting QB Brock Osweiler who had two picks, as they came out on top after being down early. 1. RB Lamar Miller was the offense as he had the go ahead rushing TD and the defense caused a safety. 2. Jacksonville got a rushing TD from their QB Blake Bortles who again was great a thrower with one pick and under 100 yards, but they did get a 100 yard kick return TD from WR Marquise Lee. After blowing a 20-11 lead like this the Jags fired head coach Gus Bradley with two games left.
Packers 30-27 over the Bears: 1. The Packers running game finally woke up as WR Ty Montgomery had 2 rushing TDS and newly acquired a few weeks ago RB Christine Michael had one as well. Despite no TD pass from QB Aaron Rodgers his key throw on a Hail Mary attempt to WR Jordy Nelson who had 124 did set up the game winning field goal. 2. Despite three picks from QB Matt Barkley he kept them in the game with 2 TD passes one going to WR Alshon Jeffery back from his suspension. RB Jordan Howard had a rushing TD with over 100 all purpose yards as well.
Bills 33-13 over the Browns: 1. It was a four field goal game with mostly rushing TDS as QB RG3 had a rushing TD but no passing TDs while his running back fumbled the ball too. 2. Bills RB LeSean McCoy had 2 rushing TDS and his backup Mike Gillislee had one too. This time QB Tyrod Taylor didn’t run one in but threw a TD pass to the TE. QB EJ Emanuel made it into the game since the Browns were being blown out; it’s been awhile as he was QB of the Bills.
Ravens 27-26 over the Eagles: It was a 6 field goal game, as QB Joe Flacco had 2 passing TDs. Rookie Carson Wentz only had a rushing TD. They both had a pick as Wentz had 2 fumbles compared to one by Flacco. 1. RB Ryan Matthew had a rushing TD with over 120 yards. 2. Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon had the other TD.
Falcons 41-13 over the 49ers: 1. RB Devonta Freeman and QB Matt Ryan demolished the 49ers with 3 rushing TDS and 2 passing TDs. They were up by so much that backup QB Matt Schaub came in again. 2. QB Colin Kaepernick did have 2 TD passes though, but his RB fumbled the ball.
Saints 48-41 over the Cardinals: 1. QB Drew Brees after back to back games of no TDS and 3 picks tore apart the Cardinals defense with 389 yards and 4 TD passes, two of those going to WR Brandon Cooks who had 186 yards as well. Backup RB Tim Hightower had 2 rushing TDS as well. 2. RB David Johnson had over 100 all purpose yards and 2 rushing TDS, as backup RB Kerwynn Williams had a rushing TD as well. QB Carson Palmer had a clean day with 2 TD passes as well.
Raiders 19-16 over the Chargers: 1. The Raiders defense picked off QB Phillip Rivers once and forced two fumbles from fill in RB Kenneth Farrow. 2. Kicker Sebastian Janikowski had four field goals for most of the offense besides a TD pass from QB Derek Carr to WR Michael Crabtree.
Patriots 16-3 over the Broncos: 1. The Broncos defense forced two fumbles and held QB Tom Brady without a TD pass and under 200 yards passing but it wasn’t enough to win. 1. The offense hasn’t been consistent or good all year, RB Devontae Booker has fallen off a cliff since filling for RB CJ Anderson, as waiver pick up Justin Forsett on his 3rd team has taken the reins from him even after fumbling the ball in previous games. QB Trevor Siemian hasn’t been good since the start of the year as he had one pick. They are wasting the talents of WR Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas as they mustered up one field goal. 2. With the defense keeping Brady in check they let RB LeGarrette Blunt score a rushing TD, and he wasn’t even the leading rusher as Dion Lewis had 95 rushing yards.
Panthers 26-15 over the Redskins: It was a 7 field goal game but really it was all about the Panthers. 1. QB Cam Newton had a 300 yard passing and 2 TD game as RB Jonathan Stewart had over 130 yards rushing, and FB Matt Tolbert had a TD. 2. Kirk Cousins had one pick and a fumble while WR Jamison Crowder had the other fumble. 3. RB Robert Kelly had the only scoring TD for Washington.
