Chiefs 21-13 over the Raiders: In a divisional game on Thursday night football the defense of the Chiefs was too much for the high scoring offense of the Raiders as QB Derek Carr and his receivers weren’t very effective all night and they also dropped some of Carr’s passes. 1. The Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill has been on fire of late and had a punt return TD and a receiving TD. 2 The only bright spot for Oakland was RB Latavius Murray who had over 100 yards and a rushing TD, and kicker Sebastian Janikowski was responsible for the rest of the scoring.
Steelers 27-2 0 over the Bills: In spite of QB Ben Roethlisberger three pick game his running back and defense picked up him up. 1. RB Le’Veon Bell single handily won the game for them and many people’s fantasy football teams with 298 all purpose yards and 3 rushing TDs. 2. The defense had a pick and 5 sacks of the Bill’s QB Tyrod Taylor. 3. WR Sammy Watkins looks healthy after missing most the year with an injury as he had a TD, and RB LeSean McCoy led the team in receiving yards and a rushing TD.
Titans 13-10 over the Broncos: In spite one of the best defenses and one of the best up and coming QBs quiet, the Titans won. 1. QB Marcus Mariota only had 88 passing yards and was sacked two times, as the only offense was a Demarco Murray rushing TD and two field goals. 2. QB Trevor Siemian had the better statistical game with over 330 yards and TD pass to WR Emmanuel Sanders who also had a 100 yards receiving game. But the offense fumbled two times running drives that eventually stalled the offense from scoring when it mattered.
Redskins 27-22 over the Eagles: Washington’s defense had two forced fumbles and a pick while both RBS scored. 1. RB Robert Kelly and Chris Thompson both scored as both WRS DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon had TD passes with Jackson adding over 100 yards in revenge game VS his former team. 2. The Eagles had mostly field goals except for an interception return TD. 3. RB Darren Sporles had the team’s only offensive TD as he became the first player ever to have 30 receiving TDS, 20 rushing TDS, 1 kick and 1 punt return TD.
Dolphins 26-23 over the Cardinals: 1. QB Ryan Tannehill had 3 TDS passes but it was his defense that forced 2 fumbles and had two picks that really saved him since he had a pick and 3 fumbles while losing one. 2. RB David Johnson was held scoreless but he did have 121 all purpose yards, while it was WR JJ Nelson who played the best for Arizona with a rushing and receiving TD. 3. Tannehill has a sprained ACL and MCL and is probably out for the rest of the season.
Vikings 25-16 over the Jaguars: It was a 7 field goal game for both teams but Minnesota put the game away in the 4th quarter with 13 unanswered points. 1. RB Matt Asiata and TE Kyle Rudolph had the 4th quarter TDS for Minnesota. 2. WR Bryan Walters scored the only TD for Jacksonville, as QB Blake Bortles did have a clean game but he was sacked four times.
Texans 22-17 over the Colts: The Texans defense picked off Andrew Luck two times and forced a fumble on him as RB Lamar Miller’s great game bailed out QB Brock Osweiler’s poor performance of under 150 passing yards and pick. 1. Miller had 122 all purpose yards and a rushing TD, and kicker Nick Novak had five field goals. 2. WR TY Hilton had a TD pass and 115 yards while RB Frank Gore caught the other TD pass.
Panthers 28-16 over the Chargers: Despite QB Cam Newton’s poor performance of a TD pass and a pick and only 160 yards his defense and RB carried the load. 1. RB Jonathan Stewart had a rushing TD and the defense picked off QB Phillip Rivers three times and forced two fumbles by him as well as a safety. 2. RB Melvin Gordon left the game with a hip and knee injury.
Bengals 23-10 over the Browns: 1. RB Jeremy Hill had 142 all purpose yards and rushing TD, while TE Tyler Eifert caught both of QB Andy Dalton’s 2 TD passes, without his number one option AJ Green. 2. In QB Robert Griffin’s return from injury he was picked off once with just 104 yards but he did have a rushing TD. 3. Cincinnati’s defense held WR Terrelle Pryor to just 3 yards, and held RB Isaiah Crowell scoreless.
Lions 20-17 over the Bears: The Bears did well enough and stuck around till the Lions scored the go ahead TD as QB Matthew Stafford ran one in for a rushing TD, redeeming himself for throwing two picks. 1. One of those interceptions by Stafford was returned by the Bears for a TD. 2. QB Matt Barkley had a clean week and had a TD pass, improving each week. 3. The Lions were without their starting RB as well as Theo Riddick missing the game.
Jets 23-17 over the 49ers: Despite it being rookie Bryce Petty’s first career start and having a pick while losing starting RB Matt Forte early with an injury, the Jets overcame an early 49ers lead in OT. 1. Backup RB Bilal Powell had two rushing TDS one in OT, and had 179 all purpose yards, the main reason the Jets came back and won. 2. Both RBS of San Francisco had TDS, Carlos Hyde had a receiving one while his backup Shaun Draughn had a rushing TD. 3. Nick Folk hit three field goals for New York, one for 50 yards.
Buccaneers 16-11 over the Saints: 1. Well it was a six field goal game where both QBS didn’t throw a TD pass, as Drew Brees had three picks for the second week in a row. 2. RB Doug Martin scored a rushing TD which was the difference in the score but also fumbled the ball in the end zone for a safety.
Falcons 42-14 over the Rams: The Falcons demolished the Rams on both sides off the ball as head coach Jeff Fisher who was given a two year extension a few days earlier, was fired. 1. QB Matt Ryan threw 3 TD passes and since it was a blow out his backup Matt Schaub even came in. RB Tevin Coleman caught one of those TD passes and had a rushing TD was well. 2. The defense had two forced fumbles and two interceptions as one of those fumbles and interceptions were both returned for TDS. 3. The Rams only scored on two rushing TDS one by rookie QB Jared Goff and RB Todd Gurley.
Packers 38-10 over the Seahawks: 1. Well Aaron Rodgers has been in a groove lately after all the comments about his game, despite it being the defense and running game’s fault. He threw 3 TD passes two to WR Jordy Nelson and another to Davante Adams who had over 100 yards. 2. Two WRS had rushing TDS in Ty Montgomery and Jeff Janis. 3. QB Russell Wilson had one of his worst games to one of the worse defenses with 5 interceptions. The Packers defense also forced a fumble and had 3 sacks. 4. Wilson did throw one TD pass late in the fourth quarter which was all of the scoring besides an early field goal.
Giants 10-7 over the Cowboys: Dallas has only lost two times. Guess to whom both times? The New York Giants! 1. The Giants defense harassed rookie QB Dak Prescott into two interceptions as they also forced 2 fumbles and kept rookie RB Ezekiel Elliot scoreless. It was a sloppy game on both ends as QB Eli Manning had two fumbles and an interception as well. 2. Dallas only had one score the whole game, an early TD pass to WR Terrence Williams. No team scored in the 2nd quarter or even the 4th quarter since the field goal, and WR Odell Beckham Jr’s TD was at the end of the 3rd quarter as the go ahead score.
Patriots 30-23 over the Ravens: 1. In a high scoring Monday night affair the Patriots showed they don’t need TE Rob Gronkowski or WR Danny Amendola, as nobodies WR’s Malmo Mitchell and Chris Hogan scored TDs while Gronk’s fill in at TE, Martellus Bennett, had the other TD pass from QB Tom Brady. RB LeGarrette Blunt also had a scoring TD while the defense harassed QB Joe Flacco into an interception, and tackled RB Kenneth Dixon in the end zone for a safety. 2. Kicker Justin Tucker did his thing kicking three field goals with one being 50 yards, as the TD passes from Flacco to a backup TE and RB Dixon made up for his safety with a receiving TD.
