NFL Recap Week 9 2016:

Falcons 43-28 over the Buccaneers: 1. In a high scoring affair QB Matt Ryan continued his career year with 4 TD passes and over 340 yards while WR Julio Jones had a TD and 110+ Yards. 2. QB Jameis Winston was no slouch either with 260+ yards and 3 TDS with two of them going to WR Mike Evans who had 150 yards as well. 3. Again we see both teams had a chance to win despite their defenses because even backup QB Mike Glennon who came in for an injured Winston threw a TD pass.

Lions 22-16 over the Vikings: 1. QB Matthew Stafford did it again pulling out a victory in OT or late in close games this time it was a game winning TD pass to WR Golden Tate. Stafford also had over 200 yards with a TD pass earlier in the game. 2. The Vikings offense wasn’t good enough to help support the vaunted defense only putting up under 20 points again. 3. It was a field goal game but it was kicker Matt Prater who stole the show with a 58 yard field goal.

Giants 28-23 over the Eagles: 1. The Giants won their straight behind QB Eli Manning’s 4 TDs and 250+ yard game and two of those TDS went to WR Odell Beckham JR. 2. New York’s defense had two picks and one forced fumble making QB Caron Went look like a rookie with two sacks as well. 3. Outside of two rushing TDS the Eagles offense didn’t show up. They had just a few field goals but their kicker missed one too. Bottom line-both sides of the ball for Philadelphia didn’t show up.

Dolphins 27-23 over the Jets: 1. RB Jay Ajayi showed up again with over 100 yards and a TD. 2. RB Kenyan Drake had a kick return TD for the go ahead score. 3. The Jets fell further into last place as they had four personal penalties and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had two picks, and they fumbled the ball two times. 4. RB Matt Forte had a good game with 97 all purpose yards and TD.

Chiefs 19-14 over the Jaguars: 1. Playing without QB Alex Smith, RBS Jamaal Charles and Spencer Ware, and during the game they lost WR Jeremy Maclin and TE Travis Kelce, they still won since the Jaguars couldn’t do anything on offense. 2. It was the defense for Kansas City that showed up with one pick, two forced fumbles and two sacks. 3. Outside of one TD pass by QB Nick Foles the rest of the offense was field goals, which is funny since they won despite Jacksonville having more touchdowns, two TDS by WR Allen Robinson and RB TJ Yeldon off passes by QB Blake Bortles, who had over 250+ yards as well.

Cowboys 35-10 over the Browns: 1. Dallas completely ran over the winless Browns as QB Dak Prescott had 3 TD passes, RB Ezekiel Elliot had 2 TDS and over 90 yards rushing and TE Jason Witten had over 130 yards with a TD. 2. The lone bright spot for the Browns was WR Terrelle Pryor who had their only TD.

Ravens 21-14 over the Steelers: With QB Ben Roethlisberger’s return the Steelers offense looked inept as the Ravens broke a four game losing streak climbing into first place. 1. QB Joe Flacco had over 240 yards and a TD pass to WR Mike Wallace as he also had over 120 yards V.S. his former team. 2. The Ravens also had a blocked punt return TD and two point conversion as well. 3. Big Ben did have one TD pass and one rushing TD but looked out of sorts coming back from surgery on his knee 3 weeks ago, and had one pick.

Saints 41-23 over the 49ers: 1. The Saints routed the 49ers as QB Drew Brees had over 300 yards and 3 TD passes. Both RBS Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower each had a rushing TD but Ingram had over 150 yards and receiving TD too. Brees is one shy of becoming the third QB to have 450 TD passes in his career; the other two are Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. 2. QB Colin Kapernick had his best game of the season with 2 TD passes and just under 400 yards, but it wasn’t enough as his team couldn’t stop the Saints, as he had one pick and a fumble too.

Panthers 13-10 over the Rams: 1. Despite being sacked five times QB Cam Newton had over 220 yards and 1 TD pass to TE Greg Olsen but this was an ugly game offensively won by the team’s defense who gave up less. 2. Again QB Case Keenum didn’t look too great even with a TD but still had a pick as fans were cheering for #1 overall pick Jared Goff to come in and even Tim Tebow chants. 3. The Panthers forced a fumble and four sacks on Keenum but it was really a field goal game with 3 of them.

Colts 31-26 over the Packers: 1. Despite a game with two picks QB Andrew Luck’s team prevailed because RB Frank Gore had 2 TDS and a 99 yard kickoff return by RB Jordan Todman to start the game. 2. QB Aaron Rodgers had a good game with 3 TD passes to his usual WR suspects Randal Cobb, Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams. 3. The Packers fans shouldn’t be mad at Rodgers because the defense has given up two straight games of 30 points and he has no running backs, so no run game, making him have to throw it all the time and play from behind. This is funny because that’s been Luck’s issue all year but this time his run game showed up and bailed him out.

Chargers 43-35 over the Titans: 1. The Chargers offense went off with QB Phillip Rivers with 275 yards and 2 TDS, RB Melvin Gordon had over 260 all purpose yards and a TD and TE Antonio Gates had a TD. 2. QB Marcus Mariota had a huge game with over 300 yards, 3 passing TDS and one rushing TD but had 2 picks and a fumble. 3. The Chargers had a fumble recovery TD and interception TD as well.

Raiders 30-20 over the Broncos: In a battle for first place the Raiders took down the vaunted defense of the Broncos. 1. RB Latavius Murray had 3 TDS and over 110 yards. 2. The Raiders defense still wasn’t great while letting QB Trevor Siemian have over 280 yards and 2 TD passes but they forced a fumble, one pick and two sacks. 3. Outside of Murray’s 3 TDS Kicker Sebastian Janikowski had three field goals.

Seahawks 31-25 over the Bills: Seattle won its 11th straight Monday night game. 1. QB Russell Wilson ran for a TD and threw 2 TD passes with TE Jimmy Graham catching both while having over 100 yards. 2. Again Tyrod Taylor was uneven with a pick and a TD pass but he also ran in for a TD too. 3. Backup RB Mike Gillislee scored on back to back weeks.
