NFL Recap Week 8 2016:

Titans 36-22 over the Jaguars: 1. Well the Titans rolled all over the Jaguars scoring on six straight possessions from the 1st quarter going into the third quarter. 2. QB Marcus Mariota had 2 TD passes and 270 yards passing while RB DeMarco Murray had over 120 yards rushing and a TD. Even his backup rookie Derrick Henry had a TD. 2. Again Jacksonville’s QB Blake Bortles had an impressive stat line but it was all done in the 2nd half in junk time as his team was down 27-0 at half time. Bortles had over 330 yards and 3 TD passes. 3. WR Andre Johnson announced his retirement from football which surely can be described as a Hall of Fame career at receiver for Johnson.

Bengals tie Redskins 27-27: The NFL got its second tied game in a season since 1997. 1. Washington’s kicker Dustin Hopkins missed in over time while QB Kirk Cousins threw his last pass into the crowd at the end of game but at least he didn’t fumble the ball like Bengals QB Andy Dalton. 2. WR AJ Green again dominated the cornerbacks with over 120 yards while TE Tyler Eifert finally showed up after missing most of the games so far due to injury or taking it easy, he had over 100 yards and a TD. Also both RBS had a TD in Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. 3. Cousins did have a great game with over 450 yards and 2 TDS. Both TES had over 90 yards in Vernon Davis, and Jordan Reed back from a concussion added a TD to that 90+ yard game.

Chiefs 30-14 over the Colts: 1. Despite losing their starting QB 2x and starting RB they came out on top as QB Nick Foles came in relief of Alex Smith and had 2 TDS, while TE Travis Kelce went off making fantasy owners happy with over 100 yards and a TD. 2. QB Andrew Luck who has 3 come from behind wins wasn’t allowed to as Kansas City picked him off once and forced a fumble.

Panthers 30-20 over the Cardinals: 1. The Panthers defense woke up. They had 8 sacks on QB Carson Palmer and forced two fumbles while also shutting down stud RB David Johnson rushing, making the game one dimensional for Palmer who had one interception as well. 2. Jonathan Stewart also woke up after missing games due to injury with 2 TDS. 3. Two of Palmer’s TDs went to JJ Nelson who surprisingly wasn’t the leading receiver as Johnson led the team in receiving with 84 yards.

Raiders 30-24 over the Buccaneers: The Raiders are 5-0 on the road as they won in OT, first time being 5-0 on the road since 1977. 1. QB Derek Car had a franchise record of 513 yards to go with 4 TD passes with the last being the game winner. Amari Cooper woke up after a subpar game last week to explode for 173 yards and a TD, and Michael Crabtree had over 100 yards too. 2. QB Jameis Winston was no slouch either as he had 2 TD passes, but it was RB Jacquizz Rodgers who again went off with over 70 all purpose yards and one TD, but he did leave the game with an injury.

Saints 25-20 over the Seahawks: 1. The Saints pulled an upset over Seattle despite a pedestrian day for QB Drew Brees who only had 1 TD pass and over 260 yards. Starting RB Mark Ingram who fumbled was benched in favor of RB Tim Hightower who had over 100 yards. 2. It was a field goal game as there were 6 field goals combined and Ingram’s fumble was recovered by Earl Thomas who ran it back for a TD.

Texans 20-13 over the Lions: 1. The Texans stay 5-0 at home as they recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock to the end of the game snapping Detroit‘s 3 game winning streak. 2. RB Theo Riddick had over 130 all purpose yards and a TD for the Lions as RB Lamar Miller had over 60 all purpose yards and a TD for Houston despite being questionable for the game with a shoulder issue. 3. As the rest of game was 4 field goals combined outside of a TD for Texans’ TE CJ Feidorowicz.

Patriots 41-25 over the Bills: 1. The Patriots got revenge on the Bills for their only loss by trampling them as QB Tom Brady had his first 4 TD game since last October. Those 4 TDS went to WRS Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and Danny Amendola, and TE Rob Gronkowski who also had over 100 yards. RB LeGarrette had a rushing TD. With such a huge lead Brady’s backup Jimmy Garoppolo came in the last few minutes of the game. 2. The Bills did have 3 rushing TDS with one coming from QB Tyrod Taylor.

Jets 31-28 over the Browns: The Jets came back to win this game as they were afraid of losing to the Browns as they were down early. 1. Matt Forte had back to back great games with 2 TDS and over 90 all purpose yards and his back up Bilal Powell had a TD too. 2. QB Josh McCown who returned from injury had 2 TD passes but also two picks. 3. WR Terrell Pryor again was the lone bright spot with over 100 yards and RB Isaiah Crowell scored again.

Broncos 27-19 over the Chargers: 1. Broncos were without starting RB CJ Anderson but his backups came up with 2 TDS with Devin Booker having over 80 all purpose yards. It wasn’t the offense that won the game as they had 4 fumbles losing half of them, and QB Trevor Siemian threw an interception TD. 2. Denver’s defense had an interception TD and a blocked point after. 3. RB Melvin Gordon had over 100 yards but couldn’t find the end zone prompting QB Phillip Rivers to air it out for 2 TDS but also three picks.

Falcons 33-32 over the Packers: 1. QB Matt Ryan led his team to a victory with a TD pass to WR Mohammed Sanu towards the end of game, 1 of his 3 TD passes on the day. 2. As QB Aaron Rodgers was no slouch with 4 TD passes with one going to WR Jordy Nelson who had over 90 yards, but it wasn’t enough despite being without two of his WRS. 3. Falcons RB Devonta Freeman had a rushing TD.

Cowboys 29-23 over the Eagles: 1. QB Dak Prescott out did his fellow rookie Carson Wentz throwing a game winning TD pass in OT to TE Jason Witten and his TD pass going to WR Dez Bryant getting them to OT, as Bryant had over 100 yards as well. Prescott also had a rushing TD. 2. Both Matthews scored for the Eagles, WR Jordan and RB Ryan. 3. There were six combined field goals as well.

Bears 20-10 over the Vikings: 1. Well after a 5 week absence QB Jay Cutler came back to silence the critics. He had over 250 yards and 1 TD pass and RB Jordan Howard had a rushing TD and over 150 yards. That TD pass from Cutler was to WR Alshon Jeffery for his first TD of the year. 2. Also the Bears defense showed up with five sacks and one forced fumble. 3. QB Sam Bradford did have a TD pass to WR Stefon Diggs but it wasn’t enough as his defense gave up too many points for a limited offense with no run game with 2 RBS out. His offense line failed him letting in five sacks for a fragile QB like him.
