NFL Recap Week 7 2016:

Packers 26-10 over the Bears: In another why are the Bears playing on primetime TV, they got beat by an ailing team in a slump. 1. QB Aaron Rodgers threw 3 TD passes and had over 300 yards passing, with two of those TD passes going to WR Davante Adams. 2. Already missing QB Jay Cutler it didn’t help Chicago to lose Brian Hoyer to a broken arm as they had to turn to Matt Barkley, who hasn’t gotten the opportunity till then to play QB in a regular season. Barkley did not look great and threw two picks and they had to force the issue with the rushing game which wasn’t smart since Green Bay is the NFL’s 3rd best rushing defense. 3. The only TD in the game for the Bears was a fumble recovery TD in the end zone.

Giants 17-10 over the Rams: In a close game in London of all places the Giants picked off QB Case Keenum four times who had come off his best game the previous week. 1. The real story was the Giants defense who took one of those picks back for a TD and 2 forced fumbles. 2. With Kicker Josh Brown’s sexual assault and abuse becoming public and much worse than the NFL thought, the Giants cut him. Since they were in London they needed someone to kick so they signed former Bear Robbie Gould who had one field goal in the game.

Chiefs 27-21 over the Saints: 1. Again, the only offense for the Saints was QB Drew Brees leading them after being behind through most of the game with 3 TD passes and over 360 yards. But he threw one pick that led to a TD for Kansas City and RB Mark Ingram had a fumble to make it 3 turnovers for the Saints. 2. Chiefs RB Spencer Ware has taken the starting job from Jamaal Charles despite being healthy. He had one TD and over 120 all purpose yards.

Colts 34-26 over the Titans: In a close divisional game the Colts pulled ahead in the 4th. 1. QB Andrew Luck threw one of his 3 TD passes to TE Jack Doyle who was filling in for the injured Dewayne Allen with less than two minutes left. 2. Robert Mathis recovered a fumble after the Titans got the ball back and ran in it for a TD, ruling out any comeback for Tennessee. 3. Marcus Mariota had a good game with 2 TD passes and RB DeMarco had over 100 yards and a TD, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Eagles 21-10 over the Vikings: 1. In QB Sam Bradford’s return to Philadelphia he was harassed by the Eagles defense and was sacked six times forcing his first three turnovers of the season. 2. The major difference wasn’t the TD pass by QB Carson Wentz since he threw two picks but it was the kickoff return by WR Josh Huff. 3. The Eagles had four forced fumbles preying on the depleted offense line of the Vikings missing both starting tackles.

Bengals 31-17 over the Browns: Cincinnati finally caught a break with a bad opponent and went off on the Browns. 1. The Browns lost their QB Cody Kessler to injury leaving them to use undrafted rookie Kevin Hogan, the 6th QB they have used, which isn’t good when you’re down early but he ran for his first career TD. 2. QB Andy Dalton had 2 TD passes and over 300 yards with one going to star WR AJ Green who had over 160 yards. Both RBS had 2 TDS with Giovanni Bernard having over 160 yards. Lions 20-17 over the Redskins: 1. QB Matthew Stafford threw the go ahead to WR Anquan Boldin and finished with 266 yards and got his 100th career win. 2. Washington played a sloppy game with missed field goals and a forced fumble. They also lost CB Josh Norman to a concussion that had him leave the game, as did Darius Slay leave the game with an injury for the Lions.

Raiders 33-16 over the Jaguars: The Raiders had a complete game on offense as they beat up on Jacksonville as head coach Jack Del Rio got a win VS his former team. 1. RB Latavius Murray had two rushing TDS, while WR Michael Crabtree caught QB Derrick Carr’s lone TD pass. Kicker Sebastian Janikowski had four field goals and the defense picked off QB Blake Bortles two times and forced one fumble. 2. The big thing the defense did was shut down both Allens in Robinson and Hurns their stud receivers to a combined 54 yards.

Dolphins 28-25 over the Bills: After upsetting the Steelers, the Dolphins continued their success over the Bills as RB Jay Ajayi tied an NFL record by surpassing 200 yards rushing for the second time in a row and scored a TD. The people who hold the record are OJ Simpson, Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams. 1. QB Ryan Tannehill had a good game with over 200 yards and one TD pass to WR Kenny Still who had 100 yards. 2. The Bills had no issue when it came to running the ball as QB Tyrod Taylor had a rushing TD and was the leading rusher to go with s passing touchdown. Coming in for RB LeSean McCoy who got hurt in the game was Mike Gillislee who had a TD, and Reggie Bush who had come back from tearing his ACL in St. Louis last year, and even sued the the stadium, also had a TD.

Jets 24-16 over the Ravens: The Jets snapped their 4 game losing streak with defense and running. 1. RB Matt Forte woke up out of his slump with 2 TDs, 100 yards rushing and over 50 yards receiving. He joined Marshall Faulk, Marcus Allen, Thurman Thomas and Herschel Walker as the only players with 8,000 yards rushing and 4000 yards receiving and 20 TD receptions. 2. The defense had two picks and the Ravens fumbled it two times themselves and they batted away QB Joe Flacco’s final pass attempt. 3. In place of recently named starting QB Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick had one TD pass which was the one to Forte, but had no picks.

Buccaneers 34-17 over the 49ers: 1. QB Jameis Winston threw 3 TD passes and had over 260 yards while 3rd sting RB Jaquizz Rodgers had over 150 yards rushing. Two of those TD passes by Winston went to WR Mike Evans waking him from a subpar year. 2. Bad news for Tampa Bay who put WR Vincent Jackson on season ending injured reserve list.

Chargers 33-30 over the Falcons: In a high scoring affair the Chargers pulled out ahead in OT on a game winning field goal by kicker Josh Lambo. 1. Since it was all about offense here RB Melvin Gordon had 2 TDS, Tyrell Williams had 140 yards receiving and QB Phillip Rivers had over 370 yards and one TD pass with a pick. 2. For the Falcons RB Tevin Coleman had 1 TD and Julio Jones had over 170 yards but didn’t score, and QB Matt Ryan had 1 TD pass to TE Jacob Tamme, but he had one pick. 3. There were 7 combined field goals kicked in the game.

Patriots 27-16 over the Steelers: 1. The Patriots rolled all over the Ben Roethlisberger less Steelers as RB LeGarrette Blunt had 2 TDs and over 120 yards, and QB Tom Brady threw 2 TD passes with one going to TE Rob Gronkowski. 2. Without Big Ben WR Antonio Brown didn’t have a score despite having over 100 yards, and RB Le’Veon having over 140 total purpose yards.

Cardinals tie Seahawks 6-6: Both teams’ kickers missed game winning field goals in over time. The last tie in the NFL was in 2014 when Carolina tied Cincinnati 37-37. Both of the kickers made their field goals in overtime, but the new rule from a few years back states you need to score a TD to win the game in OT if the team that won the coin toss hasn’t scored or just kicked a field goal. 1. Seahawks Bobby Wagner did block a field goal earlier in game as he jumped over the line to block it.

Broncos 37-9 over the Texans: 1. Both RBS of Denver had a good game and TDS in CJ Anderson and Devontae Booker, while Anderson had over 100 yards. 2.
