Dustin Pedroia & His Sponsorships/Endorsements:

Dustin Pedroia is the Second Baseman of The Red Sox.  He is my favorite baseball player because he became successful even though people initially doubted his ability because of his size. He is a 3 time All Star and has won the MVP, Silver Slugger, Fielding Bible, AL Player of the Month, and Rookie of the Year awards.  He has won 2 gold gloves, a World Series ring and won a Silver medal in the Olympics in college. When he was drafted he received a $575,000 signing bonus.

He signed a multi-year deal with New Balance and will be Pedroia’s official footwear and off-field apparel provider. They will also partner with him to support their sponsorship of The Run to Home Base 9K to benefit the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. Pedroia will be wearing a special make-up of the New Balance 1101 baseball spike, including a version in his signature camouflage colors. New Balance will introduce a new collection of lifestyle t-shirts that Dustin collaborated on. Five percent of the MSRP of all sales will be donated to the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. The Dustin Pedroia T-shirt Collection includes 4 adult tees and 1 kids tee, designed to highlight Pedroia’s all-star abilities on the baseball field. Styles include the “Signature” tee, featuring Pedroia’s trademark camouflage, “Big Swing,” “Lazer Show” and “Spark Plug.” On New Balance’s website for baseball products Dustin is on it and his collection of gear has its own link to the page. There are videos of Dustin: The 5’9 and ‘One of us is going to be right’. There is one where he is talking about proving doubters wrong and another is a round table chat with Nick Swisher, Hanley Ramirez and André Either. It’s a viral video for commercials of their round table talks.

Dustin also does commercials for Dunkin Doughnuts. It will be a part of their campaign for their turbo boost product.  He takes the turbo boost in commercial in a David and Goliath type of fight where he drinks the iced coffee with the turbo boost to take Goliath down.  He also does more ads for the turbo shot with his teammates and manager for them. It is the Official Ice Coffee of the Red Sox which is local marketing.

Dustin signed on with a local company called Sullivan Tires and will appear in Sullivan Tire television commercials on NESN and other local stations in the Boston area. One promotion is dinner with Dustin and will be on the dance card of 24 lucky winners of a new promotion from Sullivan Tire & Auto Service. The one consolation prize is a free tire rotation. Contest prizes include an autographed Pedroia baseball, an autographed glove, Red Sox tickets, Sullivan Tire gift cards, and free oil changes and tire rotations. There are a series of commercials with Pedroia performing baseball actives and playing with kids. Another commercial is with him vs. John Lester, both pitching and hitting against each other. One appears with Jim Rice the Hall of Famer also.

He also graced the cover of MLB the Show 09. There were also viral videos where he is complaining that he can hit the high inside side fastball when the game doesn’t have him doing that. He is either pleading his case with the CEO or having his agent help and even the CEO gets someone to support his side of the case. Other commercials show him and other highlights of the game. He is an ad for Samaritans Charity walk.  He appears in an ESPN campaign for ‘this is beyond baseball’ showing him as a kid making it even when doubters said he wouldn’t.
